Want to run some noodles at night with the youngins over the holidays. Looking to build 20 or so, something that is durable and will last some years.

TIA

The fat pool noodles (make sure it's the fat ones) 18" with pvc pipe through and capped on each end.

10-12' of heavy black twine tied to one end of the pvc and a SS long liner clip on the other end of the twine. Clip to a plastic cup of concrete and an eye bolt.

2' of heavy black twine with big circle hook on the other end of pvc left to bait and hang.

Have had massive cats and gators get hooked, never had one drag a rig off to where it wasn't found.

Yup, this is how I rig mine. I cap with T's on each end of the PVC.

I have a 1 “ pvc pipe in center with a small piece of rebar inside lays flat once a fish hits it stands straight up EASY to spot ones that have a fish or need bait.

Similar to this. LINK

Good advice here. Definitely agree with the heavy concrete weight.

Side note: I stopped using red color noodles as we noticed gators seemed to chomp them more often. Anyone else have this experience or was it just a repeated coincidence with the red color?

1 gallon ag chemical jug with wide mouth.

24" of trotline string tied to handle.

1/4 oz. bell sinker tied 6" from bottom.

Circle hook (Size dependent on size of catfish) on end.

For storage place rig into jug and screw cap back on. No tangling.

good set-up and highly recommend the anchor weight, also recommend a SS leader on the hook. Keeps the gar from chewing through the line...but I had a big one break it off once. Get some reflective tape for the top cap since you're going out at night.

Also, if you get the parts organized, its a fun activity for the kids to assemble them with you.

What is your preferred bait on that rig?

Use Yellow pool noodle. It’s the best color to use on the water for both day and Night. Also use yellow reflective tape on both ends of PVC pipe. Do not use red or white reflective tape. Red hard to see and white looks like alligator eyes at night.
