Glock/aimpoint collaboration on new red dot and mounting system

Available in limited quantities in the following pistol models: G43X, G48, G19 Gen5, G45, and G47. Not sure on pricing but I bet combined pricing is going to be in the $1200 range. Why wouldn’t they design the sight to be front of the red dot?

Most people don't like the "combat cut" where the rear iron sight is in front of the red dot, is what I assume. Also, it looks like the rear sights are part of the mounting system for the optic.
