So I replaced the vapor vent valve (AC Delco #23481275) expecting it to fix my issue and unfortunately the problem remains. When pumping gas, I'm getting about 0.1 gallons at a time before the pump shuts off. For 20 gallons we're talking me squeezing the handle nearly 200 times.

Are there any other parts I may have overlooked? There is no check engine light or anything on the dash currently either.

Thanks in advance.

Yea frick that problem. 2010 and 2015 with the same problem. Finally got a 2017 ford and can fill up without issues.

Edit. Sorry I didn’t help but I tried changing the same solenoid as you as got no where. Had the dealership do some things only for it to return months later. They blamed it on me topping the tank which I had heard about after my 2010 and hadn’t done in years.

What year model? Most common cause of this in a Yukon is the vapor canister itself. It gets flooded with fuel and stops letting vapors escape, preventing the tank from venting.

It’s a 2010. If that’s the case it doesn’t seem like swapping the canister would be super hard but I’d hate to go through all that for it to still not work.

Gotta be the vapor canister

It's the canister Or the hose that leaves the canister.

You can find the hose and un hook it from the canister and use air compressor to blow through it.

Put back together and see if that works. Most of the time that works with a truck as the bed gets dirty as shite and can clog the hose under it.

Being a Yukon might not get as dusty.

If hose clear doesn't work replace the canister.

The canister actually has 3 hoses connected to it so I guess I just need to shoot compressed air in each one.

Doorman makes a replacement canister for about $100 so if I can find that locally I’ll probably just go ahead and swap her out too.

The one that leaves the tank to the canister you won't get air through if the gas cap is left on. May have a check valve in line as well. Don't damage it.

Just look at a CAD schematic to find your canister drawing and you can see the vent(s)

Just blew through that one.

Some canisters can be opened and dump all the shite out internally and you can put it back together with some jb weld. Save $100

Don't use aftermarket for this. I had the same issue, changed it twice in 2 years. Finally took it a shop and they replaced with factory parts and haven't had an issue since.

If it’s like Doge and some others there is an anti-siphon mechanism right before the tank that’s spring loaded and will act like a check valve not allowing gas to flow if it fails. Try pouring some Marvel Mystery Oil to lube it up (won’t affect tank) and take a fish tape and try depressing the spring to loosen. The only way to replace in most cases is dropping the tank unfortunately but sometimes the Mystery Oil and fishtape trick will loosen the valve and get it working properly again.
I think the ethanol causes it to stick over time.

My 2018 Ram does this same crap. I have to half throttle the gas pump.

My 2014 Silverado has the same issue at some pumps. Pull the nozzle out so "just the tip" is inside the fuel fill and lift up on the handled to angle it as high as you can. This has worked very well for me.

I had an 06 silverado do this. I replaced the cannister and the hose (used heater hose and hose clamps). Just make sure the hose you replace is long enough / doesn't have any kinks

I have the same problem on a Tahoe. When you flip the lever to set it to auto flow, use the middle notch not the max flow. I find at new gas pumps is where I get the issue. I figured the new pumps are faster and cause the vapor lock.

Check to see if there is a fuss for the vapor canister. My Porsche blew a fuse....which I found only after I replaced the canister.

Canister officially swapped and I shot some compressed air in each hose. I’ll report back on the next fill up.

Thanks for the help everyone.

I have a 2018 Ram as well, glad to know I’m not the only one. I hate filling up, it’s so damn aggravating.

At a minimum its the vapor cannister. The cannister has a sponge in it that keeps the activated charcol pettets from entering the fuel line. The foam sponge degrades and the fuel lines get full of the small black pellets. You will have 3 hoses running to the cannister. One goes to the vent valve, one goes to the purge valve (on top of the engine), and the other to the gas tank. The line to the gas tank is actually 3 lines that merge. They will all be full of pellets. Mechanic will tell you that you must drop the tank. I recently changed mine by vacuming the hoses multiple times and running 400 lb mono through the lines. Compresses air will blow the pellets into the tank. Remove the purge valve and shake it to remove pellets, and then clean this line. (It will not hurt to use compressed air on the purge line if it is first disconnected at the cannister, but still use mono)This condition will not cause a check-engine light to trip.

Can you give me more details about this process? I replaced the canister and cleared the purge line going to the engine along with replacing the canister and the solenoid canister as well. So my next move will be to disconnect the vent tube (gas tank to canister) and try filling up the tank. If the gas pump shuts off prematurely again then I know my vent on the gas tank is clogged and I’ll need to clear them out.

You said you did this without removing the tank and more detail would be helpful. I also don’t know what 400 lb mono is so excuse my ignorance.
