How much does it cost to drive pilings and build a "basic" camp

Just trying to get a ball park figure for driving pilings to build a camp... lets say 16' or higher and building approx 800sqft living area camp.. nothing fancy just the camp itself, not the interior contents.... accounting for a water collection container and sewage system.

I'm going to build a house on pilings. The rule of thumb I've seen a few times is it adds around 20% to the cost. A complete WAG - $15k.

Wtf?? If they're made of gold

Depends on how long the likings are, how you're driving them, and how remote the camp is. If you need equip to drive them and the camp is in bfe, more money. If you drive small likings with a maul or a pressure washer, less money.

Friend of mine just built a 900' deck/boat shed on 33' piles and paid $5k for the lumber including piles. He's on a bayou in plaquemine so he got the piles driven with a backhoe from land. he didn't tell me cost on that.

Lot of variables here. A piling subcontractor like Volks or Cajun is obviously gonna be more than somebody with a track hoe driving them with an excavator bucket. I used to get quotes all the time for pipeline foundations in South LA. Mostly used Volks. Think they are out of Port Allen.
Whatever you do, make a one call on this. The last thing you need to do is drive a pile and hit a pipeline.

One thing to ask when you are getting quotes is the cost of their pile driver mobilization. I'm seeing anywhere from 10 to 35k mobilization costs on commercial jobs around NOLA right now. This is a bit different than a residential/ camp application being that we drive thousands of piles on a project.
A 40' class B wood pile with an 8" butt and a 6" tip is running $175 each right now. You may not need that much depth, so these numbers would vary depending on your soils and application. 50 piles for this unit cost is only 8,750 but once you add a 10k mobilization cost, you can see how the total cost can be surprising if you're not prepared or it.

Who are ya'll using mostly. Yep, the mob/demo is a big part. Plus, you need an area for it to set. Might have to set it on mats.
I have a feel the OP wants a Boudreaux show up with a 30 year old excavator price.

Then call up Volks Constructors Monday AM and tell them about how many piles you want to set and tell them where it is. Then you can decide if Boudreax may be a better alternative.....

Im no way against getting a good deal... but with investing some money in this... i see it is you get what you pay for... Thanks for the responses fellas

ETA: Just asking... but vesting 40k in the whole setup be enough? Like I said at the beginning, I have no idea what price this would cost for a basic camp

I would have to think that's enough to make a VERY nice camp

ok, good deal...

I'm completely guessing. I have no idea how much it costs to pay somebody to sink pilings for a camp.
I just know the old man is building a metal building, slab and all, for less than $10k. I'd have to think 40k would be much much more than enough to build a bunkhouse, unless your idea of basic is much more ornate than mine.
