How much would you pay per acre to lease prime hunting land in Louisiana?

I'm talking land that butts up to the Mississippi River and the deer have great genetics. Do you think 30 per acre is about right or should it be more?

How much would I pay? Probably not more than $10/acre.

But I'm sure others would be willing to pay $30/acre.

Just curious as to what people think is reasonable for that type land.

$20-30, up to a certain point depending on how much land it is.

I'll take two acres.

Some lawyer or doctor may pay that for a prime spot, but I would never go more than $15/acre.

I think we pay $7.50/acre.

ETA: Is this duck and deer?

I was thinking just deer. I've just heard all these stories of people paying such outragous prices.

I think 30/acre is about right in the prime hunting spots (St. Francisville/Concordia/Tensas). Too rich for me, but there are plenty of people out there willing to pay it.

If its only a 200 acre tract, they would probably charge less.

Our club in MS is pretty cheap for the area, I think total our members pay $11 or $12 an acre. Which is like $1-$1.50 an acre per member.

It is also going to depend on how long it can be locked down for. I wouldn't pay prime money, go in and make lots of improvements and then loose the lease...

Another question would be if there is enough property to manage a herd. 300 acres and someone comes in next door and runs dogs is going to be a problem...

I guess its regional variations but in South GA or N. Florida you'll pay no less than $850-1,200 an acre and thats for little more than stubble field.

Leasing is more to the tune of 13.50-18.00 an acre with the really good ones going about $25..

Yep, screw that... At that price I can hunt Iowa, Canada, Kansas, Texas, or Old Mexico for a Booner and have some free time on my hands as well.

The latest I've heard that got my attention was about 2k acres that went for 45 an acre. Most places in W.Feliciana are going for at least 25 and if your paying under that you better not tell anyone or someone will come in and out bid you

All depends on how much land. Old Miss hunting club has about 8,000 acres which pay a bit more then $25 an acre. Big problem with that is ,they loged the hell out of it and when the Mississippi river gets high, that shuts down the hunting for deer.
