How to repair broken water inlet tube on pressure washer.

I was given a B&S pressure washer in decent shape. Problem is the water inlet tube was plastic and it broke off right at the pump head. I tried drilling it out, but don't want to use to big of a bit and eat up the threads. It's rock solid in there and I can't seem to get it to budge. Any ideas?

What size is the inlet tube, you could use a easy out set from sears. Maybe use a heat gun to apply some heat to the tube.

if there is anything accessible, you might be able to try to get the broken part moving by tapping on it with a hammer and small chisel or punch...otherwise, you gotta get an ez-out....
whatever route you go, just be sure to get any particles out of the pump before you run it...

use a hack saw blade to cut through both sides then knock pieces out with a chisel. Or take a hot knife blade and melt through both halves then knock out.

What about getting two drill bits or similar metal rod hot and pushing through the plastic, then grabbing the two rods with a wrench and unscrewing?

If it will melt with a hot chisel you may be able to create a slot on each side then turn it out with a big chisel.

melt the plastic out all you can, then re-tap the manifold.

I would be very cautious about applying heat to the manifold as seals and o rings could be damaged....

I have failed at all attempts. What about drilling out completely, including threads, and jb welding hose adapter in there? Think that would work/hold up?

no way I would drill the existing threads out...take it to a machine shop or a mechanic's shop if you have to...they will have that shite out of there in ten minutes...

If you are going to drill out the threads then just rethread it and put in a helicoil.

Depending on the size of the male end of that adapter you could drill out the hole a little more and tap the plastic to that size....NPT of course. I wouldn't go the jb weld route and I wouldn't spend much $$ without knowing if it works.
