Hustler Dash 42" zero turn mower

Went to start today and it turned over 2-3 times, then a pop sound.... and now nothing. My wife said there was a puff of smoke that from the motor but didn't see exactly where.
Starter maybe??

If it’s not turning over at all it may be a shot solenoid. Try to jump across the solenoid with a screwdriver.

Does it make a click when you try to crank it now? If so, could be solenoid. If it does nothing at all, might be ignition. I've replaced both on my Hustler.

Take the spark plug(s) out & see if it will turn over. A leaking carb can cause fuel to leak into the cylinder causing the engine to hydro lock.

There is probably a fuse in there that blew. That's what the popping sound was most probably.
