There's a small creek channel just east of Blake's house. Just pulled 4 nicest ones.

Between my wife and I, we kept 19 striper which is one shy of a limit. We had to throw back 2 overs. Running and gunning all over the lake as the striper are constantly on the move this time of year. I didn't even turn my trolling motor on all day. All 21 fish were caught on slab spoons.

Hell yeah. I'm gonna try at False River tomorrow morning

Tried the 983 bridge for about 1/2 hour and only caught 1 small channel cat (not a lot of current here today). Moved back to the Woodview Lane bridge (plenty outgoing current) and caught and released 11 hybrids before getting hungry and the sun was cooking me(no shade at this bridge). Even if we don’t get another downpour, I’m thinking the current will still be swift and hybrids still be biting tomorrow at the Woodview lane bridge. I didn’t try the bridge by Bergeron’s campground at all today, may go there first in the morning?

Thanks. You looking for any particular water color or depth?

I’ve been using a basic Carolina rig with a shrimp tail dropped into the current. The water clarity has been muddy in all the canals since the rains.

We used to catch them off the Lake D'arbonne spillway on crawfish tails, I thought it was crazy but apparently not

1 nice blue cat so far in Chenal. At bergerons camp ground right now. About to start bass fishing. Not much current

Make sure you give the Woodview lane bridge a shot before leaving town. I slept in and decided to mow the lawn since we have sunshine and blue skies.

Had to leave since my wife invited all the family for lunch and didn't tell me until last night. Ended up with 3 catfish and 4 bass.

You think tomorrow worth a chance? Finally day off was going to take my 2 boys before school starts next week

I’ll check the current under the bridges this evening and report back.

No longer any current at all 3 bridges so it’ll be a crap shoot for hybrids. If we get another good downpour it’ll move some water and they’ll school upstream again but until then you’ll probably just have to fish the pylons for sacalait with tube jigs or shiners, bluegills hang around there too, crickets are the best bet. Good luck if y’all go today!

Interested in seeing how to pull the red meat off. I’ve been on a couple of crappie trips to Toledo when they were generating electricity and we had to pivot from crappie to white bass. We got on one school and I caught 15 on 15 casts with a small slab spoon the guide handed me while he was dancing around keeping shiners on everyone’s hooks.

I just spit the filet in half cut all the red out. Left with two strips

Did not go. Went and caught some bass and sac a lait in one of our ponds. We did ride over there after just to look. Woodview lane bridge is the one in that subdivision? Small canal? Where do you park to fish?

I pull into the grassy road on the right as soon as you cross the bridge. It’s used by the parish to maintain the canal.
