Got a pecan tree that turned entirely brown all of a sudden. All the leaves are falling off.
Every other pecan tree in the neighborhood and nearby is still green as can be.
Is this tree gonna come back green next spring, or do y'all think it's dead?

It's tough to write off a pecan tree - as they are so tough and resilient. My wife was convinced both of ours were dead this year. They greened up pretty late. These are huge trees, to boot.

But, I think yours may be done. I wouldn't cut it down until you confirm it - they do crazy things like shed branches an go dormant under stress, but find a way to recover. If she's brittle and hasn't greened up by May? She gone.

Pretty sure all that's good for now is BBQ fuel.

Looking at the pic a second time. Looks like it may have been struck by lightening.

When one of our trees got hit by lightning it had much more bark blown off. I was actually about 100 yds away when it happened. Scary shite.

Cut it down, unless God needs to set it on fire to send you a message

We have a pecan tree at our office at work. Half of the leaves are green and the other half is bare with no leaves at all. I reckon it's dying too

Well, from the pic it looks like all your trees have a case of horizontalist.

there is not cure. In future plant vertical.
