I've been wanting one for over a decade, but now that I have a little one, I'm more motivated to provide some shade.

Do any of you use one? Likes and dislikes? Obviously it makes fishing hard. There's the umprella technique in a rod-holder, but I'm still leaning toward Bimini.

How much of a pain are they to open and close?

Do they install easily, or is that a pain too?

Do they hold up well? Or do they fall apart?

I paid to ha e mine installed when I bought my boat, so I have no input on that part. It’s easy to setup when your ready to open it. It’s for straps that hook to your anchor points. I cruise about 35 with my top up no problem. I have an aluminum 8ft Bimini top, which gives me plenty of cover. I do air it out from time to time when the boat sits up for a bit, so the mildew doesn’t take over.

I have one on the small boat off Amazon. Going on the 3rd summer but I do store it out the sun. About the best 150 you can spend.

The ones I'm seeing are for wider beams, 1448 size jb's. I can't seem to find any for a more narrow 1436.

Anyone know where I can find one? Google is failing me.

Boat covers direct shows that they can do one for a 14x36 Xpress jon boat. At least their website does, maybe check there.

I spent some time navigating there. The absolute narrowest top they have is 54". Rail to rail, my beam is only 51".

Anyone that has one of these...Do these models allow for any customization? Could I just saw 3 inches off something?

You could bend the bottom in to make it narrower.
