Keeping raccoons away from deer feeder

Is there a way to do this without trapping? I know the collect wisdom of the outdoor board has figured it out and as a novice hunter I am seeking that wisdom.
Like I don't want them in the area. Am I asking too much?

Coons are just a part of life unless you’re willing to go to some pretty extreme lengths. Even if you do trap or poison them, you’ll barely make a dent if there’s a creek bottom around.
There’s a redneck trick of greasing the poles with crisco but it doesn’t last. You can build a cage to keep them away from a spinning feeder but it’s got to be heavy gauge or they’ll find a way to destroy it. They will pick around a zapper after getting popped a time or two.
I’ve just accepted that if feeding corn the coons are gonna get theirs. I’ve had dozens a night at some points, but it doesn’t seem to bother the deer. Feed in the morning if you really want to give the deer first right of refusal.

Never been an animal that I loved and hated to each extreme like a raccoon. They’re fun as hell to watch, they’re frickin cute, and they’re funny. But damn they’re destructive.

find yourself some idiot that likes to eat them for some dumb reason, take a few days and go sit out after dark with a Ruger 10/22 and have some fun. Use the Aguila 60 grain bullets, and you'll drop them in one shot easily.

Buddy man was bragging to me about how many deer he had coming into his plot. Said he was feeding 200 pounds a week yada yada yada. His trail camera was up about a week and he sent me a picture with about eight Coons in one frame

Mix vaseline and red pepper together. Grease poles on feeders. Thank me later.

Mix together vaseline, cayenne pepper(powder), and crushed red pepper. Grease feeder legs. The coons will try to climb the legs and will get the mixture on their paws. Then they will attempt to lick their paws clean, and that's when they experience two versions of cayenne pepper. lol The stuff does work.
Also, I have varmint cages protecting my broadcast feeders as well.

I’ve heard from old timers to mix Golden Malrin fly bait and come or orange soda, but I’ve never tried it and it’s definitely not legal. Lol

You ever tried cleaning a coon?
I’m sure they’d taste fine if you got all the glands out properly, but that is a bitch to do, and not worth it to eat a big rat.

If you try the fly bait make sure that only raccoons can get to it. Any animal will drink it. It will kill anything, even you. Don't breathe the fumes. I've heard raccoons don't make it 5 feet before they take a dirt nap.
