Red River in a gator trax boat. Apparently someone wasn’t too happy and tried to sabotage him by putting rocks at the opening to a slew he found. Some people really suck in life to do that.

Apparently Poche attracts drama. I fished an open in 2016 as a co-angler up there and he did the same thing, fished out of a tin rig in a hard to reach area. Both boaters I fished with heard rumors that he may get disqualified for having friends of his drive piles across canals so the fiberglass boats couldn’t access them and only he could fish them in his smaller boat.

He also got into a scuffle with Ish Monroe during a BASS tournament on the Kissimmee Chains a while back. LINK

I like ish but he isn’t whipping anyones arse. That’s not a slight to him. Just not his personality

I was thinking he seemed pretty whiny and dramatic in that video while poling. He needed to be focused on fishing and not stepping all over his rods.

The man has built a reputation on exactly what you saw in that video. It wouldn’t surprise me a bit if either a) he put the rocks there, or b) there were no actual rocks. I watched on my phone and couldn’t see them. Maybe you could see them on a better screen.

If you took the time to video that, and you were known for jumping logs and driving tough boats, why the hell would you not video the jumping part??? Unless he had to get out of the boat and it would have cost him in the tournament.

couple of thoughts:
1. Poche seems to find the drama... or it finds him. Doesn't have the best reputation for playing well with others.

2. Regardless of that.... IF someone did pile those rocks there that's totally not ok. Let's just say he plays it like the previous days and just rolls in there. He and the cameraman could have been thrown from the boat and injured/killed. I'd be ready to fight someone if they did that to me.

3. The protest deal is dumb..... We can stare at a video screen all day like we are playing Pac Man and no one is supposed to have a problem with it but heaven forbid someone use a smaller boat and get into an area that no one else thought to get into. Dumb... just dumb.

Rocks

Here is a video showing the rocks. Some spectators got out and moved some of the rocks so he could get in.

So you think Poche is the Lebron of bass fishing?

I doubt a competitor would weigh in, eat a meal and then load a boat up with rocks and drop in the water. Being Louisiana, it's more likely the landowner did it to keep people out.
