I know they're both ugly as shite but I'm looking at something with a small OAL and capacity for home defense (in reality, I have plenty of firearms for that but I just want to buy another gun)

The .410 version is here at $369.99 and 10 +1 round capacity, 18.5" barrel

The 12 gauge is here at $649.99, 18.5" barrel, and 10 rounds

My questions are... anyone have or shot one? Do they feed reliably? Are they complete Keltec shite?

I’ve never shot any of those. You can never have too many guns. I personally, would use that money on ammo or a suppressor. You can never have to many of them either.

I shot my tokarev TBP12 this weekend. Pain with buckshot. Low brass would not eject. Curious if Kel tec maybe has better recoil or action? I can tell you the .410 seems way more fun. 12 gauge tokarev buckshot kicked like a mule

I think Aguila only makes the mini-shells in 12 Gauge.

No experience with either and I don't have HD- specific guns, but I kinda like the idea of the .410 as a HD load because it'll be plenty effective without sending lead through your neighbor's kitchen. Hard to argue with that price, too.

I bought the Century Arms BP-12 when it went on sale to $199 (thanks OB for making me spend $, again).

Its fit and finish are expected of a $200 12 gauge. I bought a 10 rd mag, but couldn't get the gun to cycle with low brass 7s and 8s. Wanted to put 50 rds thru it, but didn't want to burn the $ for 00 buckshot.

I just bought some high brass #5s that I will see if it cycles next time I'm out.

I think the .410 would be cool, but .410 shells aren't cost effective for shooting for fun.

I bought a GForce Arms GFY-1. The shotgun exceeds all my expectations. The only thing I hate about it, is the selector switch is really short. It's a little heavy, but since it's a bullpup all the weight is really close to your chest. I've never had a single malfunction.

I'm incredibly leery of semis (see post above yours) even close to that price range because of cycling issues. People either say "it's complete shite, don't buy or I've put 500 rounds of everything through it without a hiccup" for semis in the $300ish range

There seems to me no middle ground

Eta: and yes, pumps can have their share of malfunctions too

This is what I am concerned about. I already have issues with my shoulder and arthritis.

I too own a Tokarev and low brass fails to eject after the 2nd shot.
High brass and buckshot wrecks the shoulder. Holy crap. I shot 10 rounds and had more than enough.
