Does anyone have one? How do you like it? Any issues? Thinking about grabbing one to be my carry.

I have an Ultra Carry .45, Kimber used to make great pistols. I guess they still do…

Yeah, I know they used to and I don't know anyone that has one so thought I would ask here.

Buddy had one. Was a jamomatic. He couldn’t get it to feed reliably. Tried all different types of ammo. No bueno.

Did he break it in wet with at least 300 rounds of brass FMJ? It is a 1911.
I'm not being sarcastic, I'm really asking if he tried this break in.

Not sure how many rounds but he got super frustrated. He asked my opinion because he knew I had 1911’s. I have never had to break in any of my guns where I get consistent Fail to feeds every mag. I have 8 1911’s. I have a Springfield EMP 3” that has over 1000 rds through it and maybe had 2-3. I did some research on it for him. Apparently it’s not an uncommon issue with these micro Kimbers. A lot of people said tge same on the 1911 Reddit sub.
If you want a micro 9 1911 get an EMP 3”. Bought mine used off GB for $650. I have another $400 in upgrades but it was fine line it came from the factory. It’s a badass little gun.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm probably going to pass on it. I've read a lot of the same.

I have an 9mm Evo SP Cusom Shop and an .45 ultra carry II. I love both of them. Can't speak for the micro though.

I currently carry a Ruger Security 380 (I love it) but was looking for a 9mm with a lower profile, since I appendix carry. That's why the Micro 9 interested me. I may go with the new Bodyguard 2.0 since they fixed the world's most awful trigger from the first version. The only issue, though, is that it's still a 380 and I would really like a small 9. Everything else seems to be of the Glock clone style, which is just pretty damn uncomfortable to appendix carry.

Please delete the repeat.

Why buy a premium handgun and then expect to break it in?
The classic movie line, "Get rid of that nickel plated sissy pistol and get yourself a Glock." is echoing in my brain while reading this discussion.
Not exclusively sold on that one gunmaker, but the larger point is valid.
Why should anyone be expected to wetnurse an expensive pistol?
It should function flawlessly out of the box or it is a POS.

I carry one daily for about a year now. Never had any jam issues. Great little gun that you can also carry in a pocket if needed.

Over the years, I've seen very few that require a break in, but before you throw in the towel, this is what you try. And honestly, if you aren't firing it enough to consider it broken in, regardless if it needs it or not, you haven't fired it enough to carry.

Too boxy and large for appendix carry. I already stated this above.

Although that is all of our expectation, that doesn't line up with reality. There's not a single manufacturer that has a 100% success rate. That's why they all have service departments.

Cousin to the Micro 9 is the Sig P938. Also the 1911 style, I have one and it's been a great little gun. Mine is a legion so just a hair longer but not enough to turn me off and holds one more than the regular P938.

I've got a kimber micro 9 and the original 380, have shot a ton of ammo though both and have had no issues with either.
I've also got the sig p938, and highly recommend it also if your looking for a 1911 style carry in 9mm

Key words here are "used to". Every Kimber I've seen or shot in the past 5 years or so are awful.

Another small 9mm is the Kahr CM9. I've carried the CM9 before and really like it. The Kahr trigger is more like a smooth revolver DA trigger than a Glock trigger. I didn't have any problems w/ the Kahr trigger, especially since there are no external safeties.
