Any hands headed out to fish Lacassine, bass are now catch and release only. Can keep everything else still
And the game camera ban on WMAs is only during turkey season which is lame as hell

I saw this posted earlier.

Urgent news: The Lacassine National Wildlife Refuge will temporarily prohibit the harvest of all bass species for the 2025 fishing and boating season.
Recent surveys suggest that the fish numbers are not at a sustainable number to promote the growth and health of our bass population in the Lacassine pool. We ask all anglers to please refrain from harvesting any of the bass species in the Lacassine pool for the 2025 fishing and boating season. Catch and release only.
The harvest restriction is intended to protect the bass species and provide time for the fish to spawn at least once in their lifetime. We intend to do more research soon to better understand why our fish population is struggling and what we can do to improve the habitat itself.
Thank you for understanding and if you have any questions, please email us at swlrcomplex@fws.gov

Every time I’ve been there it’s been crowded as hell and I’ve hardly caught shite.

I put money on the problem being the marsh version of livescope. All the baws/bawettes with 36V trolling motors getting their boat on plane, while leaning over the front of the bow spotting every bass bed in the pool. You know who you are.
Haven't been to Lacassine in >5 yrs now but I would not be one bit surprised to see casting platforms on the bow of boats now.

Catch and release will protect the spawners
I didn’t fish it back in the day but I have been in recent years and that bottom is very silty and could definitely use some work and some fire like it used to have as well
