Going there for a week next week, never been. Anybody got any pointers for catching fish at this place? Mainly interested in Sacraperch, bream or catfish as I will mostly be fishing with little balls. But I may do some bass fishing here and there. Will be in a 17 ft Express w/ a 40 hoss so I'm not sure I can run all over the place. Tia

I know a guy that lives on the lake........doesn't fish much but he'll drink scotch with you as long as you want to drink.

We usually just drink beer and catfish from my buddy's pier. Be sure to hit the pizza place on the water

A group of us ended up on Lake Hamilton many moons ago on a bachelor party. We spent the day (literally from noon to midnight) at their only strip club in town. It was BYOB and I consumed a box of Franzia in there. Talk about a shite show.

Anyway, the next day we rented a pontoon boat for the lake. Why they let us leave the dock without a sober captain, I will never know. We ended up docking it along with several hundred other boats in a cove-like setting where clothing was completely optional. Someone's grandma ended up on our rented vessel and smoked some of Arkansas' finest herb that day. I can't remember all of the things that were seen that day, but do remember having to pay someone to drive our rented vessel back to port.

Can't help with putting you and Little Balls on the fish, but hope he keeps his Little Balls to himself on yall's trip.

we'll have a master craft and a 30' float boat at our disposal too. I may leave the woman and kids one day and go search for the mystical clothing optional cove with granny and the ganja.

Just watch for the Sheriff lake patrol. Very aggresive bunch, especially around bridges. They have had some fatal boat collisions in those lakes in recent years, so they are patrolling for DUI's and speeding in no wake zones.
If they get you, it's "cash on the spot", not just a ticket.

It's not the best lake for fishing due to recreational traffic. You'll usually have the best luck fishing around the boat docks for bream or crappie and fishing the feeder creeks with spinnerbaits and soft plastics for largemouth.

Hot Springs fishing challenge

Hopefully you will catch "big al"

I would fish early in the morning because of the lake traffic.

There are some coves with no wake areas to fish in daytime. But best to fish early or at night. The cove my place is in is damn good for bream, but may be hard for you to find if you're not familiar with the lake.

I thought for a second we were on the same trip until you said

Someone's grandma ended up on our rented vessel

Very similar expierence minus grandma.
Solid advice to OP, do not litter, make sure you pick up all your trash, careful throwing cigarette butts out of the boat too, we were not stopped but a guy at the landing told us he got stopped for throwing his butt out.
