Is there a way to launch when the river is flooded like it is now with a surface drive and get to the lake. And if so give me details please!!! TIA

You can launch off the gravel road but the current coming across the road is extremely bad. Be careful, I almost sunk my prodrive one time when my boat got pushed against a tree. The water started pouring over the opposite side of my boat. What you going for out there?

Bowfishing, I love bowfishing that place this time of year

Haven’t been up there last few weeks so not sure where the water is but you should be able to launch in the ditches on the side of the road. Should be a pile of boats parked there from latest reports in hearing

I bowfish there too. They water is still a little to muddy due to the river runs straight across the lake at this level.

What kind of boat do you have, I might have saw you out there before? I been going out there close to 20 years.

quote:That current ain't no joke. I had to help a friend retrieve his boat that he sank the same way, several years ago. Also almost had a truck/boat collision during the flood of 2016. We were traveling in the ditch along Hwy22 when a driveway kicked up my gatortail and the current carried my boat sideways onto the highway in front of an F250.

2048 custom made rig painted green with a raised deck on it and a 35GTR. We hunt right down the road so i will go stay at our camp and pull the boat up there, i havent been going much the past couple years but now that i got time i am eager to go and the dang river is high as giraffe puss

Cool if you ever see a 17’ camo prodrive rig with a deck that’s me.

Hey gatorgar email me at swampbandit0715@gmail.com, if you go up there that often i might get you some contact info to let me know when its easier to access or do you know what river stage that it is accessible

With it at 57’ the water is pretty close to being over the road as you come off the hill at lake Mary Store. If the water is to shallow you can back down to the gas line and kick it in the ditch there. If they have moved all that stuff they put up to block the road view of that green plot.
By you asking that I am not sure how familiar you are with that area at +57’. Where you would launch is not close to the lake and you have to pick your way thru. Also at that level you lose your navigation land marks, just saying you can get turned around quick at this water level

I know the area pretty good i just never pay attention to water level and when it is accessible. I wouldnt be worried about getting lost with a GPS but i definitely know what you are saying. I think i am going to be patient and just wait a while. May go try Maurepas this weekend for the hell of it

Water has been over the road since duck season (Pain in the arse). Be on the lookout for the big arse culvert right past the 2nd bridge if you take the road to the lake. id imagine it is just under the water now. They never got a chance to install it before season for obvious reasons

As high as it is now its now you can run all the way down the road.
Its a little more tricky when putting in at the leaning tree and having to cut through and run up the buffalo to the lake

Fact. Especially at night

S/O to whoever flagged the way this duck season
