I am working on this process and I don't know anything about the test that you have to take. Does anyone have any experience with this process? How extensive is the material for the test and can it be passed without having a degree in biology?

I think you can buy a study guide at an Ag Extension Office.

I havent taken the test but I have heard it is pretty brutal.

Usually you have to take the classification test, which would be horticulture.

Then you have to take the business law test.

I'm licensed in construction, but the process should be the same. There are practice courses you can take to prepare.

the business law test is laughably easy, don't give it a seconds worry. Literally anyone can pass that without studying

This is regulated and testing is administered by the Louisiana Dept of Agriculture. They have guide you can purchase for the test. The test doesn't cover any business info. I have a horticulturist license and it wasn't too bad if you are familiar with the landscape industry. I have an irrigation license also which is a lot more difficult

I have been through part of the Master Gardners series and I did manage to pass the CPA test, so tests and studying don't scare me. I'm just more concerned about the biology depth and the specifics of the testing because I'm not good with that .......if it's about indiginous plants and soil types, I'm good.

Order the book from the Dept. of Agriculture. I read it twice and googled Louisiana Horticulture Exam and you can find some pointers on things to study. Passed it the first time. Good luck
