OB Faithful,

I'm looking for some info - I have twin toddlers I would like to get both of them lifetime hunting/fishing licenses for the future. I see the price is the same up to age 4 ($200) but I also remember seeing some pending or passed legislation that might change the lifetime licensure.

Do I need to rush to buy them before the end of the year or do I have more time?

I think that all takes place June 1st 2022

Going to be $500 from 0-65 years and combo only.

$500.00 is even a hell of a deal from 2-65

Plus per Green Jeans (I personally asked him at a store) if you move out of state you can still come back and hunt with it as a resident.

Yup. Thankfully I did just that prior to moving to AL. I knew I’d come back to fish/hunt over the years. It’s been a great investment.

Just a tip… physically go into the office to do paperwork. They are swamped right now and it takes forever to process the forms sent via email

His kids are 2, they won't need that license for a little while. I would hope they could get it done in time.

Go ahead and get it submitted for them. I submitted mine and my 1.5 year olds info probably 3 months ago, and just received mine 2 weeks ago and have not heard anything about my daughter's license. You never know with them, they may have it sitting there until the purchase amount changes and I still get hit for the higher charge.

Now I have my lifetime for Mississippi AND Louisiana, makes life easy for me.

Not if he needs their limits for duck season.

Kidding of course...There won't be that many ducks.

True

I did mine through email and never heard a word in 2 months on if it was processing or not. Nobody answered phones or anything. That was the point I was getting at haha. I did it when it was still unsure if they were completely doing away with lifetime or not

Man IDK if my case was an outlier, but I went through this entire process last week via email and had my lifetime license in my LA Wallet app in 4 days. It was unbelievably quick and easy. Lady from the LDWF called me 3 days after a submitted my email and took payment over the phone.
