Line-X bed liner question

Got a quote for a Line-X bed liner for my truck. I've heard nothing but good stuff about Line-X for the most part. But the guy was telling me that the standard liner will fade over time. Does anyone have any experience with this? Just wondering if the few hundred extra bucks for the "will not fade" stuff is worth it.

The stuff I had on my 99 turned sort of purple after years of abuse from various chemicals and mud. I haven't bought a bedliner since, but they supposedly have some UV stuff in it now that fixes it. My past three bedliners haven't faded at all, and I put the same stuff in them

You going over the rail? I'd consider spraying that with no face one if that's even an option. If its completely in the truck bed who cares if it fades a little, it's in the bed of a truck which is supposed to look like the bed of a truck.

i elected not to get the UV resistant one. IF it starts to fade at some point, I'll probably have a new truck by the time it looks bad.

This is kinda what I’m thinking. 2017 F150, already has some trim on the rail, so it’s completely in bed. That’s why I asked. If people were to come in here and tell me that it fades really bad and looks like shite, then I may have considered the extra cost up front.

So I have a similar question that will not help the OP what so ever, but here it is:
I do not use the bed of my truck very much, other than the occasional ice chest, shovel, small tools, and chain, etc. I was considering getting a Pendaliner, which is one of those drop in plastic liners. It is only like $140 before shipping. Our work trucks all have something similar and seem to hold up well enough. Would it be good enough for someone who doesn't abuse the bed of their truck? My truck already has the black plastic lining the top of the bed and tailgate (2018 Silverado). This would just go on the inside.

The plastic ones are fine for protection. Tbh, you really don't need to protect a bed unless you severely abuse it. My problem with plastic ones is that everything slides around. You could just get a mat

I think I got the UV protective for mine. Not too sure as it was 10 yrs ago. The bed still looks decent enough for a decade’s worth of abuse. I’m always throwing crap in it and don’t care. Chainsaws, firewood, lawnmowers, fishing gear, camping, tailgating. I elected to get the top of the rails sprayed and it’s been more than a lifesaver. Crap will slide around a bit if you hit the brakes hard. I find myself tying it down if I need to secure it - I carry straps anyways.

I have a 2013 F-150 and elected to get the regular Line-X bedliner. Like the others said, by the time it fades it will be time to get another truck. I also have a cover on the bed of my truck so the exposure to sun is limited.

I did the standard on my F150 in 2010 and it hasn't faded much -- certainly not enough for me to pay extra to prevent it.
ETA: They did a great job and my next truck will have a Line-X liner as well.

That’s all I need to hear. Thanks.

I’ve had Line-X on my truck for over 12 years. It will fade very slightly, but it’s subjected to full sun daily. It’s not enough to be concerned about and not worth any extra $$. My concern was about tearing, but I am really pleased with it. Worth every penny I spent.

My father in law had it done the week he bought his truck in 2006. It has stayed outside most of the time and the fading in minimal

I got the UV one, but it was only like 75 bucks more. 500 vs 425 or something like that. It's only been about 6 months though. Still looks good if that's worth anything

For your purposes I’d just get a mat. Will protect the floor and stud won’t slide around like the plastic ones.
Also, the plastic ones eat up the paint from virbrations and the dirt and dust that ends up between them and the body.

Linex UV does not Fade but should only be maybe 100 bucks more.
Standard linex does fade.
Standard linex does fade.

I went to CSC customs, it was $470 for their "premium" version. Double the thickness and uv protection, and looks really good.

I keep my trucks for a while. I think next time I won't get a liner until I am ready to sell it, then I'll put the regular liner in there so it looks great.
