I am considering camping at one of these three locations
Cheaha state park, Alabama
Desoto state park, Alabama
Tishomingo state park, MS
Anyone have any experiences or preferences? We have never been to any of them but they all 3 look amazing.

Have you thought about Red Dirt WMA near Natchitoches?...the most unique terrain in LA, as far as I am concerned.

That wilderness area in Red Dirt is absolutely amazing!

Dispersed camping or reserved sites?

Red Dirt WMA looks nice, I will have to add to the list. On this trip I am looking for more hills.

I have camped at Tishomingo several times while on the Trace. It is not very hilly. Nice campground, but I don't think I'd drive all the way there from BR.

you’d be better off going to the ozarks

I loved Tishomingo growing up. We would stay in the cabins over the summers. It's a pretty place and has some pretty good hiking. I've never been to the others so I don't really know how it compares.

This. Beautiful park and it is the home of the highest elevation point in the state; makes for some great pics. If you’re into early morning hikes, make it a point to check out the overlook at sunrise. Never done sunset but I imagine it’s pretty too.
