Lpvo with offset red dot

Love this idea as a best of both worlds solution but prefer holographic sights to red dots and I don’t like mini anything. However holosights are rather large. Am I completely retarded to wonder if I could hang something like the Holosun 510c or Eotech exps3 off the side and like it?

That would look pretty retarded.
ETA: the whole idea of having an offset red dot is for something small in short range (50yds or less)

I doubt your going to find a mount that would work. The Eotech and Holosun are too big and wouldn't mount in a 45 degree mount with an LPVO.
Get a true 1x LPVO like a Vortex Razor and be done with it

I use to have a love/hate relationship with guys like you. Did dumb stuff to guns but bought a bunch of dumb shite.
Just get a good LVPO and be done. I am all in on prisms and LVPO but I have an astigmatism so I can see your traditional and holographic dots even with my glasses.

Why would you need an offset red dot with an lpvo?

I’d save all that effort and get a premium 1x lpvo. They run like a red dot

You looked at a holographic sight with a magnifier? My LVPO is 1x6 with an illuminated reticle so I really don’t see the need for a red dot on the side.

IMO you don't need to mount a red dot and lpvo scope unless you plan to engage targets up close and personal. While also targets over 100 yards at the same time. I've used lpvo scopes since the mid 2000s and love them. I eventually sold all my Aimpoints and replaced them with lpvo scopes.
Also in before the red dots rules fan boys trash the this thread

Would like to know more from both of you on what brands you own & use.

I have a Trijicon AccuPower 1-8x26 (think it’s 26) FFP, a Nightforce NX8 1-8x24 FFP and a Cheap Leupold.
The nightforce and Trijicon both have illuminated reticle.
They are outstanding optics. The Trijicon is a little heavy but it’s on a .308 AR-10
The Nightforce is lightweight (comparatively) and has a small footprint.

I want to say this is the order of scopes that I have used and owned. I bought a several Burris bc I'm cheap and I could get 2 of them for the same price as one Vortex Gen 2. And they are FFP unlike the VOrtex
Millet 1-4x (2) Still own 1
Vortex 1-4x (1)
SWFA 1-4x (2)
Vortex 1-6x Gen2 JM reticle still own (1)
Burris Elite 1-6.5x FFP still own (4)
Primary Arms 1-8x FFP Still own it
The Gen2 and one Burris scope have at least 15k rnds each and hundreds of barrel dumps from 3 gun
I still own one Aimpoint that is on my bump in the night rifle.

ive got a vortex 1-8x strike eagle. its their budget one but it illuminates and holds a true 1x power. threw it on my sig 516 and love it. cant see why id run a red dot unless i just wanted to run fixed magnification with the close range option.

I finally made the switch to the LPVO with an offset red dot after years of only running Aimpoints and couldn’t be happier. My set up is below:
Trijicon TR24G 1-4x24
Aimpoint T2 offset
Badger Ordnance Condition one 1.70” mount with offset for the T2
All on a 14.5” carbine.
This set up covers everything from up close to 300 yards, basically any distance I’d actually be shooting. Expensive but I haven’t regretted it one bit and the components are bomb proof.
I agree that you can do up close work with a LPVO as a “red dot” but I am definitely faster using the offset red dot for anything up close. It also still allows me to have a full field of view and not “tunnel vision”.

Delta is a lesser known but almost uniformly praised optics maker and the Stryker line is a great LVPO in the range of the Credo, Vudu, etc.
Here's a master list of LVPOs with assembler/country of origin, which is particularly helpful in sorting through brands that have multiple levels of OEM (some Chinese made, some Japanese made, etc.). Vortex, for example.
