I bought the V3 last spring and love the bow
I am incredibly jealous of the new quiver and sight positioning of the V3X
The SAF system also is pretty damn brilliant.

I have a Tight Spot that's $150 but would get this new Mathews one in a heartbeat. Tucked tight, less torque
+1 we are on the same page.
I'm going to keep my VXR as my cold weather bow setup shooting 60lb mods.
Looking to get the 29 V3x after the holidays. I'm interested in how HHA and Spot Hog adapt to the new riser mount. Dovetails are expensive but want to utilize the feature of the bow.

How many years did Mathews tout the advantage of a single cam bow vs the dual cams of Hoyt. Then with market share dwindling they abandon the solocam market for two cams. Began chasing PSE, HOYT, and Bowtech. Mathews makes great bows today but other manufacturers make them just as good. My XT is still a great bow and just cant seem to retire it.
Mathews is a marketing machine and every year its always their BEST bow ever.

I saw Lee lakosky with a BBD this morning, said that this years bow is his favorite ever!!
Made a five yard shot, could have done the same with a bear whitetail 2 from 1990

Every single company says their newest bow is the best. Would you rather they just quit and say we’re done? Hoyt is as bad or worse than Mathews with the marketing stuff, and charges more. A lot of customers wanted a longer bow, so Mathews made one again, with some quality of life improvements. I think they do a pretty good job of listening and being transparent about what’s changed. Most pro staffers end their videos exactly the same; if you have one that’s a couple years old no need to run to the store but if you’re in the market this is a good one to consider.
Mathews went dual cam when they figured out how to make them smoother than solo cams and keep them in time. CNC machining has come a long way in 15 years.
They may not change a ton year over year, but it’s an absolute fact these bows have gotten better, and I say that as someone still shooting a z7. No one is twisting your arm, any modern bow will make a deer dead.

I've news for you the solocams get out of time with stretched strings. So do dual cams. It wasnt a smoother issue it was a SPEED issue. Again Mathews was losing market place to Hoyt and PSE with the faster speed dual cam bows. Catch Us if You Can was long gone. So they went Monster for speed. Most of the top companies today are using Darton Archery patented technology.

Thanks for the “news”, as someone who has been shooting a z7 for years, I had no idea my bow needed to be tuned.

Try buying a new Switchback XT from a Mathews dealer. They fit and tune the bow for you. You go and sight it in at an indoor archery range. It won't paper tune or group at 20 yards. A PSE proshooter and archery tech at the local PSE shop sees your frustration, and says bring it in to my shop to have a look at it. You do, and as soon as you hand him the NEW bow, he looks at the cam and string and says it's out of time/tune. The new Zebra string is stretched. He installs a new custom made string and the bow is in time/tune and shoots perfectly. My new Mathews Switchback XT had to be set up/fixed correctly by a PSE shop.

So you’re just salty at Mathews cause 12 years ago you didn’t know that all strings stretch while breaking in? Whoever sold you the bow should have told you that but it’s not exclusive to Mathews or zebra.

No. The young tech at the shop didnt see it when he sold it to me. I went next day to range to sight in. New string shouldnt have been stretched. I learned my lesson. So called proshops hire people that cant properly tune or setup bows. Again I love my Switchback XT. I just know now days Mathews isn't the only game in town.
