Microskiff advice

I'm looking for some advice on a microskiff. I don't know a lot about boats other than they float and the motor makes them go. Have a pontoon boat, but looking for something small to take my little boy out in that's easier to get around in.
Looking at a 1973 Collins micro. Looks like the guy bought it in bad shape and fixed it up. Looks pretty good now. It's all over microskiff.com.
Any opinions?

I have no opinion or advice. Just wanted to say that's a good looking boat.

Lots of folks around me search out these Campagna skiffs. They’re mostly bombproof.

That looks like a nice boat as well. Hell I might just get a jon boat and call it a day.

That's probably not a bad decision but I do see quite a lot of these older skiffs pop up for sale and when I square away a few projects would love to restore one.
They are really cool boats, most of the companies that made them are long shuttered or bought out but Lee Craft is the one I see the most but all are very similar. The appeal over a jon boat is not needing a TIG welder to customize. If you can stand the fiberglass itch you can build it out however you want.

I look at micro skiffs a lot and would love to pick one up to fish with my son.

You can get them for well under $2000 with a motor, but honestly I'd steer clear if you are fishing with a little kid. They are pretty tippy. My buddy has one, not sure if its Collins, Lee, etc. but we scoop crabs at night and flounder in it. I'd much prefer and am going to upgrade to something like a 1650 aluminum boat.
I really like the boat and it being fiberglass. But I'd absolutely recommend sea trialing it before buying it. With 2 adults you have to have your sea legs. I don't move when we are under power, then we are usually in under 3 ft of water after that so not a big deal. But I've fallen out of it drinking beer and floundering plenty of times.
ETA: I don't think they are tippy by the design necessarily as just due to the size. They are 13'6 I believe and not all that wide with a decent deadrise. So they just aren't a wide flat bottom boat.

Check out gheenoe.
I use mine in marsh and cypress swamps.
One OB poster had a nice rig for sale for a while... reds on reds on reds

I like that boat and it looks wide enough to walk around in.
I like a gheenho and if I was by myself I would have gotten one.
I fish with my son mostly and daughters sometimes and I needed something I could walk around in to untangle lines, take fish off of hooks, get lures out of trees, bushes, stumps and the bank.
A Jon boat was good for me because I can walk to where my kids have tangled something.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm looking for. If it was just me I'd get one of those blue sky boats and the wife would never see me.

You can definitely walk around in it but it’s gonna move. We stand up on the front deck and flounder by using the gig to pole around.
The main thing honestly is it’s 13’6. So short. If you ever have to cross chop at all it’s very hairy. We crossed the wake of a 50 ft Sportfisher going ‘idle’ and I thought for sure we were going to get swamp and sink.

I don’t know if he did or not. Had it for sale
I’ve got the classic which is 15’9”
I fish with other grown men all the time no issues.
When running, need to have second person sit in middle or towards back to get nose up and waves aren’t an issue. Weight in front, you getting wet

Was a very fun boat but I stopped using it. Need something a little bigger.
