Yes it is okay. What type of sprayer are you using?

Not sure the exact term, but I wear it like a backpack and pump frequently with a lever mechanism.

Would I increase the water at all? Or just use the same water to satisfy both mixing ratios?

May be a Solo backpack sprayer.

I've never mixed the two but I use 1 1/2 oz of MSMA per 3 gallons with a rig like yours.

With the sprayer of that sort there tends to be more liquid put down on the plant, in effect, more concentrated application.

Are you spot spraying or the entire yard? If so, how big of a yard we talking about? If it's substantial I'd get a 25 gallon spray rig with a boom on a 4-wheeler. For that we put a gallon of MSMA and run about 4 miles per hour depending on wind.

It is safe to tank mix these herbicides. You can use the respective ratios, but put 50% water in the tank before adding the first chemical, then repeat for the second.

You want good agitation so shake the hell out of your backpack sprayer. If you have a hand held pump sprayer, it is advised to do a small test area with it first.

I assume you have a shitload of nutsedge?

I was thinking he had virginia buttonweed. If it's nutsedge, he needs to use Permit. Nothing beats it.

Very possible. I just remember using image for nutsedge. You ever used sedgehammer?

Been a while since I have messed with any herbicides. I left the golf course maintenance industry a few years ago so I am trying to jog my memory on some of this.

I've got a lot of weeds, but the two main culprits are dallisgrass and nutsedge. The MSMA is for the dallisgrass and the Image is for the nutsedge.

If there is another product y'all would recommend for nutsedge, I would definitely consider it as I haven't bought any Image yet. I already have the MSMA.

Entire back yard, approximately 2000 sf.

I figured just doing the whole yard would be easiest. I've done it before and it didn't take long at all.

Whered you get that MSMA ?

Image nutsedge killer does ok. I do an application onmy lawn every year.

The best weed control on a bermuda lawn, is a thick healthy bermuda lawn. It will choke out 90 % of that other crap.

I use Permit but it's expensive and the smallest quantity you can buy lasts for a lifetime.

I wasn't aware of image working on nutsedge. If it does, and apparently it does, use that. I may start using it also. Much cheaper.

I'm surrprised no one said MSMA was illegal by now.

I have some and you can still get it, contrary to popular belief.

Are you a cop?

My dad ordered shite ton last year when he found it was being restricted. I'll be going to him for it for a good while.

It works but its nothing crazy. Sedge needs to be actively growing, hot as shite outside, and takes a while to work. More than not, requiring multiple applications.

I think it is popular because you can get it on the shelf at Lowes/HD.

Kind of like Round up vs. Round up Pro in the blue jug.

ETA: Dice, show your badge! "You gotta tell me if you a cop, or its entrapment"

MSMA CONTINUES TO BE ON THE MARKET

The Organic Arsenical Products Task Force (OAPTF) would like to clarify to its users and distributors that under the terms of the 2009 agreement with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) the sale, distribution, and use of MSMA products labeled for golf course, sod farms, and highway rights of way will continue.
With the regard to cotton – the 2009 agreement with the EPA provides for unconditional reregistration for use of MSMA on cotton.

The OAPTF in cooperation with the EPA has been advised that the December 31, 2013 use date restriction for the continued use of MSMA on Golf courses, Sod farms, and Highway Rights of Way has been rescinded. Persons having in their possession Drexel MSMA 6 Plus or MSMA 6.6, with this December 31, 2013 use date restriction on the label, may continue to sell and use the product in a manner described on the label past the December 31st date as this date has been rescinded by the EPA.

Oh I know. It's just this dallisgrass is the bane of my existence. Pretty sure it could survive a nuclear attack.

Interestingly enough, the nutsedge is the only weed growing in the spots where my turf is thick and healthy.

I believe you could place a 6" thick concrete slab over nutsedge and that shite will bust right through. Bad thing is that many home owners keep spraying it with round up, only to have nothing happen.
