Mounting a TV outside to a vinyl siding wall

Google hasn't been much help. Anyone tackled something like this?
Trying to think of how to keep the siding from being crushed
This will be under a patio cover so not too too worried about leaks, but also don't really want to cut a sizable hole

I mounted mine to wood siding, just found a stud and bolted the mount to it through the siding.
My buddy had vinyl siding and wound up mounting the tv to the ceiling of his covered patio. it has like a 2 foot pole, kinda like a fan, that it hangs from, looks nice.

you can mount it on standoffs if you want to keep it off of the siding

Just snug up mounting bracket to siding. Won't be seen and shouldn't be crushed..

I thought about mounting it to the patio roof too. That may be my best option
Also considered the standoffs. Just don't want it to look bad or screw up the siding

I have a similar Monoprice mount on my indoor TV.
Will probably do a similar one outside too. Not sure of TV size yet. Depends on what I'm confortable hanging on it, depending on how I install mount.

That why I went with the heavy duty one, and Big Kids(Drunken friends) will like to hang on them.

i bought this one and it came in yesterday. I will be mounting it this weekend outside to vinyl siding under my patio. Just make sure to hit the stud and all should be fine. If you don't want the siding to crush i would suggest making the hole for the lag screws big enough so the head of the screw goes past the siding that sticks out.

I thought about doing the same above my outside bar but I live on a saltwater canal and shite doesn't last outside so I think I will just settle for bringing the tv downstairs anytime I want to set up on the bar

Bolt two 2x4s horizontally to the wall studs on top of the vinyl siding using lag bolts. You could put a few washers on the lag bolts underneath the 2x4 if you wanted spacers to keep from crushing the vinyl. Then bolt the tv mount to the 2x4s.

not on Vinyl but on wood. Cut the vertical supports to fit the siding. Caulk to fill in gaps. Use a cheap mount inside the box so you can either crush or cut a hole and it will not matter.

Cut the siding around the mount

I'd cut holes in the siding where the mount will contact wall and mount to wood behind if it's under a covered patio.
Worst case, pieces of vinyl siding ares cheap as shite.

I just hung an older 40" on vinyl using a standard mount from harbor freight with no issues. You should have good wood under the vinyl to attach your wood screws to.

I like that, I might go that route when I get around to mine opposed to the wall mount.
