MFKRS are rooting up my yard some time during the night.
It's gotten pretty bad last two nights, it may be two of them.
How can i trap them?
I can't stay up till 3am waiting to shoot them.
Any suggestions?

Get a dog to let you know they're out there, then grab a .22LR and a flashlight

They probably have a hole near your foundation by the bushes. You probably are just gonna have to catch em out rooting and kill em.

Lay a couple 4x4s out in a v. Put trap in v. They’ll root all down the poles until they end up in trap. Funnel them in.

tenfoe is right.
To further that, if its dry, run the hose in the area you intend to trap, set a funnel against a boundary and bait said trap with a marshmallow.
OR - and in my opinion this is much more fun.
Set an alarm for somewhere between 1:00 and 4:00, get up, go outside and take a whiz, shoot one or more armadillos and go back to bed like a boss.

Two options:
They are nearly blind, so putting a trap near the edge of the house or edge of a flower bed usually makes them walk into it. You can also put two boards coming off the trap like a V and they will follow it in.
Second option, walk outside every hour after dark until you go to sleep. Drink 5 or 6 bottles of water right before bed and walk outside for the inevitable piss.
The smith and Wesson MP15-22 with a light and a red dot is the perfect tool for dealing with them.

The Armadillo Trap is legit. We got my dad one for Christmas one year and he caught the hell out of those bastards. Get the pre-scented one. It's worth the extra $$. Basically they scent the trap with an armadillo so the ones around your house smell it and come to investigate. My dad has caught dozens and dozens of armadillos since starting to use the trap.
Second thing I'll say is to sprinkle cayenne pepper around your yard. They hate it and it's a really effective deterrent. After the flood last year in BR, the armadillo population seemed to skyrocket and the trap couldn't keep up (they were catching 2 or 3 a week and not making a dent). My dad talked to someone who recommended sprinkling cayenne pepper around the flower beds and it worked like a charm until the next big rain washed it away.

I have a story about this. Had an electronics teacher at McNeese....we had taken an open book test and he came in with the graded tests. Dr Minn walks up to the board and draws two lines in a "V" ending at a box. He looks at all of us and asks (in his Korean accented voice)...."Do you know what that is?" We all had no idea. "He said it's an armadillo trap. Stupid armadillo puts nose down and follows boards right into trap. That's exactly what all of you did....follow example question right into trap"
"You all bunch of armadillos".
And then threw our papers (yes THREW) our papers at us. I truly loved that professor's way of teaching....he hated EVERYONE. He had no favorites.
But yes...the trap idea works...I've seen it happen (to armadillos too!).

Years ago I had one rooting up my yard. I live in a neighborhood so I didn't want to shoot him with a pistol. A buddy and I decided to set up a baby monitor close to the front porch one night for a stake out with his compound bow.
I watered the yard that evening as I read that would help draw them in. About 11:30pm we see him on the monitor. We exit out the backdoor with my buddy going around the house on one side with his bow and I went around the other side with a shovel. From about 15yds, my buddy pins him to the ground. Just don't make the mistake I did and throw his nasty arse in the garbage can when pickup is 4 days away.

I've killed more than one with a shovel, works well, especially if its sharpened a bit.
Further, the front of their skull is pretty thin, if you hit them right across the top of their eyes with much of stick, that'll do them in.

My step dad is a trapping fool. He takes 20 feet of board and makes a v-shape. At the closed end he places the trap. They are blind. Hit the board and work their way to the trap. Works really well

WHEW! Good Lawd. I bet you had a stench that wouldn't go away for months...and I bet you had more flies than you could deal with.

My dogs kill them at the farm.
I didn't realize armadillos can carry leprosy but my vet said "don't worry about it unless they are eating the armadillo."

Yep. Their body temp is similar to that in human extremities.

My grandpa was having issues with them a few years back. He had a couple of storage buildings out back, and they would root around at the base of them. He had motion activated floods and when the lights came on he would go out there. Left a nice pattern of dents from the shotgun in his metal building. My uncle told him to use a .22 and feed him one. Basically shoot straight into his face. Anything else and you risk it bouncing off. That's what the shotgun had done. I think it actually killed the armadillo, but still left dents all in the metal from the pellets that bounced off his back.

My dad has caught dozens of armadillos with that trap

This works. I've lost count of how many I've caught this way. No bait needed. I did learn that the standard live traps may not hold a large adult one. Their claws are so strong they can bend the trap door and escape. Had to get a heavy duty Tomahawk trap. Also I've found that you can trap them without the boards if you find their path leading out of the brush into mowed area. They seem to use the same route over and over. Easy to see when their is a dew in the early morning. Just set the trap in the path.
