Need help Mercury outboard 2 stroke fuel line connector

2004 Mercury 25 EH 2 stroke tiller. Ive tried two different female mercury fuel connectors on 3/8” hose. Neither fit and I am having a hard time finding info online. Looks like 1998 and prior had different connectors? Maybe thats what I bought. I bought the ones at Academy and it won’t connect to the motor male portion.
Where can I find for sure exactly what I need?

That looks like the right one. I'm not trying to sound like an arse but are you trying to connect it the right way? In the picture where you're holding it in you hand it needs to go on turned over from that position.

Yeah I tried it both ways. It connects easily to the male port on the fuel tank.

I'm not saying you have the correct or wrong connector as I don't have a Merc but put a little grease on the tube where the O-ring fits over. It'll keep it from tearing

Try looking up your motor and get the part number for the connector.
I try to stay away from the aftermarket connectors when I can as they tend to be a little inferior leading to leaks and air leaking as well
ETA search your motor on www.boats.net

Have you looked at promarineusa? They'll have them broken down by year models.

Quicksilver brand is Merc supplier. Get that brand for Mercury post 1998. If that doesn’t fit you are not pushing hard enough or have it backwards.

I have scepter and marine raider brands. Will try promarineusa as dragboatscott suggested

I found the part number for the fuel connector on your motor and cross referenced it to the line connector you have. They should definitely work together.

I had to trim some plastic off of the last one I bought for a 2001 tiller merc. I basically widdled down the corners with a knife and it slid right on. If the fuel side and locking side line up but the plastic hits you may be able to do the same

Looks right to me. Release lever goes on the left. Also, mine was tough the first time or 2. Swap the hose on the tank and motor. Both should fit both. Not saying to run it that way because primer bulb but just see if they both fit each fitting.

I have a 2002 25 EH. Had a '93, and a '94 before that. They all use the same connector. The problem is aftermarket connectors are junk. Been there, done that. Go to a mercury dealer and get one. The mercury/quicksilver will look the same on the end, but overall it's bigger and more square cut without the thumb/finger indentions. Trust me, you just need a mercury made connector. For the $10-$15, it's worth it.
Edit: the link below is for a 5/16" hose. So part number isn't exact. Go to mercury dealer for your exact needs
OEM Connector

These are personal pics from last year I dug up. Again though, mine was 5/16" hose, so what you need is slightly different for 3/8". In the last pic you'll see the difference in quality from aftermarket that came with a hose and the OEM from quicksilver (brown gasket, square bulky fitting). The one you show does look close to this OEM. But trust me, the aftermarket stuff just isn't exact enough in every way to work every time.
I actually went to a Yamaha dealer to look for one for a 30 yamaha for someone else who was having this exact issue of aftermarket connectors on pre made hoses, not working. The yamaha dealer actually had these mercury connectors on the rack and they do work on yamaha too, as shown on the package. But this is the exact fitting I currently have on my 2002 25EH, and had on my 93 and 94 also.

I got OEM connector and it still didnt fit. Just because Im stumped I tried a yammy fuel line connector and it seats perfect. Maybe I got a merc with an identity issue

Weren't there certain Mercs made by Yamaha? I seem to remember seeing this on a boat forum.
