Any recommendations for outdoor ceiling fans. We have a decent sized covered patio. We need a fan desperately to tolerate this heat. Thanks in advance.

BigAssFans are awesome. Theyre made for outdoors and put out a ton of air movement.

Second Minka, just prepare your anus for the price.

BigAssFans make several models that are as big as your porch.
Saw one in our local Dump at the Recycle area that had to be 30 Ft. across..Way Cool

Hunter. I've had Hunter fans turning nearly constantly for 25 years without a single problem.
Don't skimp.

They also make regular sized fans that are great. I have 2 under my patio.

I recommend Hunter as well. I have 2 and they run constantly.

Are any of these outdoor fans worth a crap? Every outdoor ceiling fan I've ever seen has warped blades and is held together by rust. Is there really one out there that really works and doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

What about a Port-A-Cool instead?

I have two of these on my patio. Had them about 3 years, still going strong. The move a lot of air.

My Hunter fans have straight blades and absolutely no rust. They're starting to show their age a bit and need to be updated but they still work perfectly.

We just got 2 Minka Aire 65” …they were $489 a piece. Pretty happy with them, very quiet.

Gulf Coast Fans. The company sells a model with an extended warranty. I have four fans installed on porches which are 50-75 feet from the salt water. So far they have been problem free.

Yep, mine too - and you can't argue with 25 years of constant use.

What in the holy actual frick? How do you "upgrade" from a quality piece of machinery that works perfectly? Are you actually looking for substandard fans that won't last?
Maybe you need to tell your wife to just shut up and sit down - and enjoy the breeze.

As cheap as they are and as nasty as they get outdoors I just hang a couple of cheap indoor ones every 3 years or so. They will still work but they look like hell after a year or so outdoors.
