Anyone have any experience with a PCC backpack? The ones I keep seeing are either $120+ or full of molle straps and over the top tacticool.

I'm looking for something with a quick access compartment and not necessarily a zipper.

What yall got?

I have the Vertx Commuter and yes, it is over $120. VertX Commuter It doesn’t look tacticool at all and I carry mine with a Premier Body Armor level IIIA plate. Level IIIA

In fact, I have that exact pack with me right now in the UAE, sans the PCC, and it breezes through TSA as well as foreign screening checkpoints.

I have this level III+ plate as well but it gets questioned by TSA. III+ They have always let me through but I don’t carry that one overseas.

A pack to hold a PCC securely and safely while providing access is not going to come from WalMart for $35.

Especially if you want something to carry extra mags, knife, flashlight, etc.

Spend the money and get what works.

I carry the CMMG MK17 Banshee in my Vertx. You can get accessories for the Vertx that accommodate extra magazines, pistol holsters, flashlights, IFAC, cords / cables, etc. and really personalize the pack to your specific needs.

I use the 5.11 COVRT18

I added a velco holster in the conceal carry compartment and it works well for me.

Just scored one of these for $68 for Black Friday. Looking forward to getting to use it.

Nope.

But I carry it in my Vertx bag when I travel, especially overseas. Never know when things might get crazy and at least I’ll have some protection. We travel quite a bit and I keep a modified IFAK with me as well.

I use mine for travel mostly. My PCC only goes inside if I am driving somewhere domestically and no airport or train security is required. Have used it locally from time to time with a handgun or PCC in the trunk of the vehicle.

If I have to clear security anywhere then it becomes simply a computer bag with a modified IFAK, snacks, water, etc. but with a plate of body armor. If I stay domestic, then I run the level III+ but internationally the IIIA.

My Commuter is designed to quickly slip around the front and then when you pull the big “quick” tab, the bottom panel simply drops and there is the PCC ir whatever you are carrying. That also places the body armor on your chest area.

It also has a slot in the back to put your arm through and deploy the bad/ armor like a ballistic shield. I’ve never used it in that fashion.

Appreciate the replies.

Some good suggestions here. I'll probably throw it on a Christmas list and see what happens. Maybe some gift cards will come through.

Appreciate the feedback!
