Pigeon forge/gatlinburg fishing spots

I’m in the above areas for the rest of the week. I took my son to Gatlinburg earlier in the week and caught some rainbows in the river by the stocking area. It’s a youth only spot so I couldn’t fish but he had a blast.
Looking for some places I can fish myself. I have a 5wt rod. Not picky between trout or smallmouth. Anyone have some suggestions?

Any of the streams within the Smokies park have trout. You could also head to the Cherokee reservation and fish the river there. Lake Fontana isn’t far and has bass. Any of those are good options.

There is an Orvis next to the Apple Barn in Sevierville, they should be able to point you in the right direction.

My favorite day of fly fishing the park is to park at the chimney tops trailhead and walk back through the tunnel. I slide down the mountain a bit down from the tunnel to the river. Be careful with this part.
Then you can fish rainbows up to the trailhead. Then I walk the trail up to about bridge 3 and fish up to bridge 5 and it’s native Brookie fishing through there. It’s a good few hours of fishing.
Cherokee has the trophy section if you want to fish big trout.

Greenbriar is seconded. Can also fish the Little River upstream of Elkmont campground or downstream along the Little River Gorge Road. All of the fly shops in this area are solid with Little River Outfitters in Townsend being my go-to (link below). I've been doing well with a small yellow stimulator with a small dropper about 12-18".
If fishing on the Cherokee reservation...special permits apply. If fishing in Gatlinburg proper...special permits apply. If parking for longer than ~15min in GSMNP...you need a parking permit.

ETA: water and weather is warm enough to wet wade...do be mindful of the rocks...they can be really slick.

A lot of the ft loudon reservoir is good for smallmouth. Living in the area that is what I've caught the most this year but I don't really trout fish. If you are wanting to drive a little in citico tn on the cherholla skyway there is a place called Indian boundary that alot of people at work tell me is great for both aswell.
