Great MS paint job.

Do you have a name or company name or does he just build them on the side?

At least the drain boards have to be cut out once the swell up.
You can drill holes in the weir and lock the boards in with a padlock.

We never have problems with our pipe drops and outlaws. Once you get a good flood that suction sometimes takes 2 vise grips to get off your riser. The few we have that have board slides are much easier to screw with.

Thanks, I missed that when the thread took off at warp speed.

I know. I was commenting on what is called a riser. I've argued this with a coonass buddy before, to no avail. A vertical pipe that sticks out of the ground and produces water is called a riser. Except down there.
Agree to disagree.

Call welsh irrigation and talk with them, they deal with type of stuff for rice fields, they are in welsh Louisiana.

Just installed ours from Osceola, they are the best I've ever dealt with. They have a gate at the bottom that meakes them so easy to deal with. They make a hell of a pit blind too

A little far, but thanks for the link to compare prices. I called the guy in Eunice and just sent him Tenfoe's MS paint pic updated with measurements.
What do y'all think of my measurements?

I think I sold myself short on the out put pipe. I probably ought to go with 8 feet of pipe minimum.

I'd have made it nicer if I knew it was going to him!
12" pipe will drain a very large area. I installed a 24" pipe on a 15 acre pond that kept it in check. The one thing you need to be aware of is the relation of the elevation of the bottom of the pipe to the top of the box. You will only be able to manipulate the water within that range, so make sure you set it where your boards can control the water in whatever range you are looking for. If you set it too high you'll be SOL for any water below the bottom of the box.

Meaning the bottom of the box should be the lowest point in the whole pond?
I assumed we would dig it out about a foot below the pond floor before setting the box. That's why I went 36 inches tall. I was thinking only the top 24 inches would be above pond floor height.
Basically, the top of the pipe would be level with the pond floor...

Yeah, that's the only way you'll be able to drain the whole thing, assuming the area where you put the pipe is not the high end of the pond. If that is the case you might have to dig a ditch to get the water to your pipe.

I know how and where it naturally drains. That's where the levee and control structure will be going. In the past we tried to shovel a little bit of a levee, but a good rain erodes it. I've decided to do it right.

Yep yep
A lot of our pipe drops are actually below the mean elevation

Check that price list from Osecola posted above. Mine looks like it would run about $296 a unit with them.
How did the guy from Eunice's prices compare to the link with what size you got?

Mine were 24" A2000 PVC, corrugated on the outside and smooth on the inside. I had a flap gate on the outfall and a big arse box, 48" box I think. I had to get all PVC so nobody would steal it (like an aluminum one) and it wouldn't corrode in saltwater (like galvanized stuff). I don't remember what they cost, but if you are getting an honest quote from someone I think $296 is a steal for what you are needing.

This is without the drain pipe and without shipping since it's coming from damn near Jonesboro, AR. I'm thinking the price would be close to double.
