Polaris inverter generator vs. Honda & Yamaha inverter generators

I was all set to buy either a Honda (a little quieter than Yamaha with bigger engine, but less fuel capacity and run time vs. Yamaha) or a Yamaha portable inverter.
The local place that I called informed me they no longer sell Honda or Yamaha generators, even though they are a dealer of their motorsports. The representative told me about a 2022 POLARIS P2000I PORTABLE INVERTER GENERATOR. Cost is $800 plus tax.
Yamaha runs about $1275 and Honda can be had for about $1099 to $1199, all plus tax.
What is the reputation of Polaris? The specs on this thing seem very comparable to Honda and Yamaha.
In terms of comparing them to regular and luxury vehicles, is Polaris the Chevy/GMC whereas Honda is the Honda/Acura and Yamaha is the Toyota/Lexus?

My advice would be to save yourself some money and get a Predator from Harbor Freight. People swear by them. I have the 3500 and would love to get one of the newer 9500 inverters.

Not sure what you're looking to use it for, occasional camping or appliances during an outage... But the Honda clones (Predator) have been getting great reviews across the board for reliability and longevity. Their price has gone up recently due to that reputation.
In that size, I have a WEN that has been absolutely flawless. Did a good break-in, and use the fuel switch to run the carb dry before storage, and it hasn't missed a lick in almost 5 years. Use it maybe once or twice a year.
For the price of the Honda, you could get 2 WENs and a parallel kit to link them for double the output

This. I have a 3500 inverter and 9k regular generator. They have done great and don’t break the bank.

I am glad I posted and asked. The Honda and Yamaha are double the price.
What am I missing with the Predator or the WEN that the Honda and Yamaha has, and the Predator or WEN doesn't?

Obviously having a honda engine is ideal when possible, I Bought some land and they had left a 3500w Presider harbor freight generator on the site And it's been an absolute jewel

I have a 4000w Genmax inverter generator I bought on Amazon during hunting season to power my little camper conversion. It runs a mini split ac, mini fridge, microwave, chargers for my phone, iPad and E-bike and I have a 12v converter that runs the lights, shower fan and water pump. Thing runs like a dream, is quiet as can be, weighs like 50lbs so I can easily load it in the truck or camper, and has a 3.6 gallon tank so it’ll run a while without having to be refueled. They run $600 on Amazon. Highly recommend. I broke it out the other day to let the AC and fridge in the camper run for a bit. Cranked on like the second pull.

Mostly the name brand recognition.
I ended up with an extra WEN 3500w inverter after Ida, and sold it on marketplace. The guy called me and said he had trouble with it when he tried to run his camper. Something with the floating neutral for his camper. But he said WEN was super helpful on the phone and walked him through a quick, simple plug swap on the power cord he was using and he was good to go. So apparently their customer service is pretty legit.

I use a predator 5000 inverter daily for work it runs between 50-60 hours a week. I’ve had Westinghouse and Cummins onan which were decent but I would highly recommend the predator.

I posted a reply to this, but I don't see it.
Ive had all three. Put 2k hours or so on my hondas.
Have probably 300 hours on my yamahas.
Had to buy a polaris one in utah. It has worked fine but only has maybe 50 or 60 hours on it.
I prefer the yamahas because of linkeability and boost of the inverter.

Check Champion. I know several people who swear by them. Cheaper than the motorcycle brands and apparently excellent generators.

Pretty impressed with everything WEN markets. I usually look at WEN anytime I am thinking about a new tool.

westinghouse fan here. They have 2500 which is size of a 2000 and then a 4500 inverter which i'm a bigger fan of. Can run a window unit on top of fridge and freezer etc.
