Pond aeration pump

The sump pump contraption of an aerator I have in my .75ac pond has failed. I’ve been recommended by a few previously to go to a diffuser style 110v pump set up. I’ll post a link below of what I’m talking about.
Anyone ran this style and can give me reviews etc? I’m looking to pull the trigger on one asap. TIA

I don't know anything about the pump you posted but I'm interested as well.
Were you not satisfied with what you had before. I have a pond smaller than yours, 1/3ac, but I use a HIBLOW aerator and it works well for me. Downside is I can't go below 10' because not enough power but it made a difference in the pond and it doesn't put out any noise. Can only hear it if standing right next to it and it can be left out in the rain, elements etc. Granted, only power outlet I have is at my house so that is where the pump is so noise was an important issue for me.

The sump pump wasn’t doing the job and has failed. I didn’t install it, previous owner did.
The style I linked I’ve been recommended to by a few. Was kinda hoping some here maybe had some knowledge of them before I made the purchase.

When I worked at the local recreation facility, they contracted out the small lake maintenance to a company out of the Baton Rouge area. Their biologist installed several. He said they do a much greater job of keeping a consistent water column than a fountain. Doesn't have the aesthetics, but supposed to be better all around.

Thanks. I ordered it and will install it once it arrives. If I’m happy with it I can always upgrade the compressor when it goes out.

Once it has time to work and do its thing report back your results. I'm very curious about pulling the plug on a bigger pump like the one you just got.

The compressor we had was serviceable, and ran 24/7. They would rebuild it every 18 months or so, if I remember correctly.

Will try to remember that.
As for being serviceable I don’t THINK the Vevor is, may be wrong. The higher dollar ones are though.

I’m a pond consultant and diffuser aerators work well serving their purpose, to create a continuous vertical current which minimizes the risk of pond turnovers.
Make sure to “break your pond in” by running the compressor only 2 hours the first day, then 4, then 8, then around the clock. If you just turn it on and let it run constantly, it could turn your pond over and kill fish.
One of the best manufacturers of pond aerators is Otterbine, but they aren’t $150. Aerators are made to run 24/7 but I have known people to put them on a timer. But I wouldn’t chance that for a few hours of electrical power savings.

Thank you for that advice.

I sunk a pvc/sandstone diffuser Christmas tree and connected it to an air blower and timer on shore that is used for a home anaerobic sewer treatment plant and it works great to aerate the pond and more importantlt to mix the water so it doesn’t turn over. Total cost about $450

Me and 3 of my neighbors put these in the neighborhood lake behind our house. They work great!
