What are some places in Baton Rouge that refill tanks per gallon instead of a set price for the size tank?

St. Gabriel Hardware on Highway 30 is pretty cheap. I used to get tanks filled for 11 or 12 bucks and they charge per gallon

google propane companies in your area and call

Ed's/Shenandoah Hardware on Jones Creek charges by the gallon.

Tank exchange? If so, you're getting ripped off as well.

You like burning money?

It's 20, right? It costs me 11 bucks to fill (2.20/gallon). The only time you should switch is if your tank is near expiration.
That's 9 bucks wasted every exchange. I fill up every 6-8 weeks.

And you get a little less. Those tanks aren't full, and yet you pay more than for getting a tank filled.
I use that "service" when I have a tank that is expired. That way I get 3/4 of a tank of propane and a new tank for about $20.

If you are in the St. George/I-12 area, the KOA in Denham does mine. If you are nice and talk with the guy a litle while he fills your tanks he'll usually round down the number of gallons he tells the lady inside to charge you.

Tractor Supply is cheapest place that I have found. Fill a standard tank and they weigh it, then you pay by the pound. I average right about $9.50 a tank...

I always had mine filled at the Ace on Millerville.

I use highland hardware. After reading others replies apparently he charges a lot. Paid 21.95 (with tax) the other day for 5 gallons.
