Friends don't let friends quad rail. Quad rails are heavy and feel like you are grabbing a cheese grater. Stick with a Mlok or Keymod add rails or accessories just where you need them and save a ton of weight.
What are you looking to mount? Or do you just not like the stock hand guard? There are good drop in options in M-Lok or Keymod that would be preferable to a quad rail.
The SRC have a round or triangular cap? IIRC the MOE SL doesn't fit a triangular cap which is a shame. The rail height gas block can also be a problem with some drop ins. Lots of good options though from UTG and Magpul that will fit a midlength though. I was able to mount a MOE SL to a rail height block by filing away some of the hand guard so it clears the gas block. I like the MOE SL as a drop in because of Mlock compatibility, the profile is nice and slim and doesn't feel like you are grabbing a giant log of bologna, and the way it goes under the gas block gives you a little extra hand space.

DeoreDX is spot-on here. The quad rail phenomenon has come-and-go pretty quickly. You'd have considerably more weight putting that thing on an AR10 (308) as well. Follow his advice and suggestions.

I am new to the AR game. Don't really speak the language. I spent my Cabelas points on this rifle. It has not arrived yet. I have the P-308 nikon scope and rings, and 2 magpul magazines already, waiting on the rifle.
OK, so I googled the MLok and Keymod and this is exactly what I was looking for. (I was calling it a quad rail)...
thanks...LOL
SO If I decide to go with one of these, Im guessing there are different models that fit certain rifles.

Quad rails have a lot of unused space that add weight and bulk. The ones you mentioned give you the flexibility to add rail sections wherever you want. Good to see you found what you were looking for.

Let me just add to that. I don't own a mlok or key mod but after handling a few with them it's night and day difference compared to a quad rail. The quad rails aren't just heavy, they hard as hell to grip the front while any of keymod or mlok rail is just natural and easy to grip. Huge difference in feeling and shooting grip.

Behind your gas block is a handguard cap. It looks like this.

You see there are two shapes to this cap. One is round and one is triangular. I know the MOE-SL handguard doesn't fit on a triangular cap. Whatever handguard you get you want to make sure it will fit whichever handguard cap shape you have. Most will fit both shapes but there are always the exception to the rules.
Looks like your rifle has a midlength gas tube. So when you are looking for a new handguard you want to look for the terms "Drop In" which means you just pull the old one off and throw the new one in and "midlength" which is how long your handguard needs to be. Anything else might require a little bit of gunsmithing to get it installed.

thanks for the info.
anything in this realm of ARs is new to me.
Im very familiar with growing up with and currently owning many different deer rifles, shotguns, pistols..
but the AR stuff is somewhat of a new language.
shoot me a link to the M-Lok or KeyMod that you would recommend for the Windham SRC 308.
