I am in the market for a 22 or pistol and can’t decide between the two. Welcome the OB’s input. Leaning mark IV at the moment due to ease of takedown but haven’t owned or shot either before

I have the mk3 22/45 and it's eaten every bulk ammo i've put in it. pretty accurate as well.

I have a Walther P22. It was finicky cycling bulk ammo at first, but now that I've put about 1000 rounds through it, its as smooth as butter. Fun gun to shoot.

I have the MARK IV 22/45 and I love it. I haven't had an issue with it. I put a cheap red dot on it and it is a Tack driver.

That being said, the Buck mark is also a fine weapon. I just don't own one

I have had a buck mark for 20yr or so now and it’s been one of the most accurate pistols I have shot and has been completely reliable.
That being said I have shot the ruger and was impressed with it as well.
I don’t think you can go wrong with either just depends on which one feels better in your hand. Ruger is easier to find accessories for.

I have the MarkIV hunter just like this. It is silly accurate but doesn't like remington ammo.

Picked up a mark IV 22/45 this afternoon held both and liked the ruger better. The slide seemed easier to manipulate on the ruger due to the flared out rear. Cant wait to put some rounds through it. Wanted a suppressor ready model but beggars can’t be choosers.

I have Mark IV 22/45 w/ suppressor & RDS. It's excellent.... eats anything.

If you plan to suppress (Yes is the answer here) get a 4" barrel or shorter and standard velocity ammo will be subsonic and hollywood quite. My rd count is up 10x since getting the can.

The Rugers have huge aftermarket parts availability. Trigger is a must - I recommend the Volquartsen

I have had a buck mark for about 15 years, we call it the stuck mark, it jams if it isn't wet with oil or held with a tight wrist. It is extremely accurate for a pistol, more accurate than a family members Ruger with an aftermarket barrel.

Nothing likes Remington ammo, it’s crap.

I have both the Ruger and the Browning, either will serve you well. I like the trigger on my Ruger better, but the open face design of the Browning makes it much easier to clean.

I’ve had my Buckmark for a long time and have put a lot of rounds through it. It definitely likes to be wet with lube. Very fun to shoot, and definitely a tack driver.

Also have one of these, works with the Buckmark and Ruger mags.

Did not know. I’ve never had issues.

My cheapo Savage 308 rifle hates white box Winchester ammo.

I guess I should clarify. I was referencing only Remington .22 rimfire ammo.

I shoot Remington .308 in my deer hunting rifle and it is fine.

Can't go wrong with either. Secondhand Mk3 22/45 here, she eats anything, is stupid accurate, and looks like a million rounds have been through it.

I went down the rabbit hole after reading this thread yesterday. Look at the FN 502.

I knew a guy that had a Mark IV 22/45 Lite before the boating accident. It was badass and never failed to fire or cycle with good CCI stuff and also Remington and Winchester bulk. The stock barrel is threaded and pretty doggone accurate.

Have you looked into the volquartsen acurizing kit? It makes the gun even better.
