Sac-a-lait/ Crappie fishing lure recommendations

Going fishing with a friend this weekend and I want to out fish him.
I usually use a black/Chartreuse on 1/32 round jig head. Will be trolling so no shinners.
What does the OT board use/recommend as lure/pole or setup?
TIA.

I'd use some kind of curly tail grub if trolling.
Not in that color, but I like that body style for trolling.

I love those under a cork post spawn. Pumpkin pepper with chartreuse tail.

Garland makes a swimming shad version of their bait that looks like it would work for trolling. Academy has them right beside the baby shad.
I've never done it - only vertical jigging with fly rods.

JB Salter weed guard for your jig will do the job.

I like to use that kind and color grub. I usually just throw it with a lightweight spinning rig.

Almost time for the post spawn deep-top bite on the river. Should be good until at least July 4 in Boyce oxbow. They love the monkey milk bounced off the wood.
I caught several post spawners on a private pond this weekend, so it shouldn't be long. Hopefully the river is beginning to clear a little.

quote:Uhm, you need my number. I really want to do that. I've caught so few in the river, and those were lucky at best.

Yes, my email is first.last name @ googlemail. From daylight to noon you can usually catch 20-30 once they're located. I have about 12 brush piles gps'd.
Nuttin better than the thump on that jig down 8 or 9 feet. Maybe sex, but I gave that up for lent about 5 yrs ago.
Usually go by myself
