Looking to upgrade from my older Motorguide 40 lb thrust to something newer with spot-lock. No need for it to have sonar. Ive Garmin lsv32 and 93sv echomap at bow. Striker 7sv at console. It's mainly a crappie boat for the family. Budget $1000-$1,500.

Ive older model Basstracker Pro 175 TW. I've upgraded to newer electronics, now looking to upgrade my trolling motor.

with your budget you are very limited for spotlock trolling motors. There are only a few that fall under $1500.

Motorguide Xi3 in that price range. That gets you 12v, 52lb thrust for $1100. Minn Kota power drive 12v, 55 lb is around $1250. I prefer the motorguide.

I have had one for 2 years on my 17ft Bass tracker. No complaints so far. Only issue with Motorguide if it breaks getting parts can be a bitch.

Looks like bass pro has the Minn kota powerdrive with spot lock on sale right now. I have the powerdrive without spot lock on my boat and haven’t had any issues with it in the 7 years I’ve had it.

trollingmotorparts.com

They literally have every part for Motor Guide. I just ordered some stuff for my XI5 and installed 2 days ago.

2 years ago the steering motor on my X3i went out. It took almost a year for the dealer to get the part in to fix. I bought the X3i with spot lock after 2 months of waiting. Once the warranty issue was fixed I sold it. Maybe you have had different experiences but mine sucked arse.

My bad, looks like the one on sale is a 24 volt. The 12 volts are regular price.

Might want to consider putting the gt54 ducer on troll motor shaft and put livescope ducer on a seperate pole if you think you will spot lock often.

Watch marketplace and do the research on what motors can be converted. Liable to find one for a couple of hundred that can be converted for $4-$500. I bought one (24 volt Rip Tide Terrova 80 pound) to convert to a remote live scope mount that needed a control board for $100. I bought the board for about $150 and it worked so good I decided not to hack the thing up and sold it for $950. There seems to be a bunch of them on Marketplace around me right now...

We got a foot pedal only because our deploy button went out on the remote. Due to supply issues, couldn't get a remote for like 18 months. We would use the foot pedal just to deploy then use the remote to control.
