Anyone have any luck with "Shared Leases" for duck hunting? I saw this company online (LINK ) and figure its not worth it, but wanted to see if anyone had a good experience with something like this.

From what I have read, you pay for a blind (up to four people per blind) and call in before going hunting. They send you the location of the blind available.

It's fairly common in the Houston area. Outfits will lease up a bunch of mostly shitty ground to say they have a crap load of land. One tract might be a 500-ac cattle field with a half-ac pond but, it's 500-ac, right?

They will have a few good spots, of course. Otherwise, they wouldn't be able to post their #gram shots. The best spots will be used for the day hunters. Lease members get the leftovers. You might kill a few here and there, but rest assured you aren't getting access to the A-spot day in day out.

Their business and money maker is running day hunts. The shared lease folks just cover the overhead.

I'm sure this doesn't apply to all outfitters. However, you can bet this fits the majority.

Property can either be in a lease or day hunted - but not both. Never ends well and the "outfitter" will make his money off the day hunts and stick it to the lease members. Plenty of these outfits that have sprung up last 10 or so years and they are all just burning through people and properties.

I know a guy that got in one these in SE texas and demanded his money back 3 days into to teal season. For waterfowl hunting spots - if they have to advertise - NOPE

Unless you want to hunt spoonies in old catfish ponds, then I wouldn’t waste your money with them.
