Since when did Dick’s stop selling fishing gear and why?

I used to go there a good bit strictly for certain tackle. Went in a few weeks ago and they said they got rid of the fishing section. The worker didn’t really know why. Wtf?

Because fishing requires a license to take part in. Licenses are oppressive. So fishing is cancelled.

They basically shite on outdoorsmen with all the anti gun stuff they were pushing. I haven’t set foot in one of their stores in years because of it and I know I’m not alone. Maybe they got rid of it because of how much business in that department they lost as a result

They own Field and Stream I believe. They sell it there.

We have an Academy here in St. Peters, MO so it looks like they are making their way north.
I stopped going to Dicks when they started their anti-firearms stuff years ago. Hope they go belly up sooner rather than later.

Yes. You can walk into Dicks in Lafayette and walk right over to F and S and get guns and ammo

I still don’t understand how that store stays open, everything they have is cheaper at Academy 1/2 mile away and the few times I’ve stopped there there were barely any customers even in the place. Go to Academy and the place is packed.

The Dick's here has larger baseball and softball selections. That's the only reason we go anymore.

F and S has a very good gun selection. 5x that of academy. Much better selection of hunting gear than academy

Dicks is an awful sporting goods store.
Bad prices, bad politics.
The reality is there is no reason with online shopping being what it is that any of us should be spending money there short of an emergency situation where you just have to have something that day.

ahhh, yeh I figured there had to be Academy's slowly being built north and west. They are all over the South and while Dick's has a more "organized" layout, Academy takes the cake any day (even before Dick's anti gun bullshite).

I used to get some of their F&S ladder stands way back when. Haven't stepped foot in one since the went SJW anti-gun.

I just remember their spring sale tent. Thought I could get some tungsten weights for a little discount. Was still higher than academy with 30% off
