Small Septic System For Shop?

I'm trying to look up the approach to adding a sink/standup shower and toilet in a shop that's too far away from the house to hook in to the septic system. Anyone have experience with this? Are there mini septic systems offered?
Maybe I'm Googling the wrong thing. All that keeps coming up are do it yourself 55 gallon drum septic system instructions add Saniflo macerator systems. Not sure if either of those are right for me. I'm in Prairieville for what it's worth.
I'll probably get on the phone and call some septic contractor next week. Just hoping someone on the OB knows because I'm researching it now.

Codes will determine what u can do as far as a small septic. Marchands plumbing Mr Pat will let you know how small you can go and what AP will allow. $2500 is about as cheap as I've heard for a residential septic system.

If you are looking for a DIY solution they sell septic tanks at the co-op in Woodville without having to pay LA DHH fee / paperwork. At least they did as of a few years ago. But I could never recommend doing it yourself as that could harm the environment.

Well not really DYS. Willing to learn if it saves thousands and is worth the time. If it's going to eat up 2-3 days I'm just going to pay $2-3k

you can either do the barrel thing (that's what I have at my camp) or hire someone. Anything other than barrels will require renting equipment and will definitely take several days trying to do it yourself

if it was me I'd piss on a tree and let the shower just drain out into the yard

I used barrels. They have worked great for 15 years.

Civil engineer here. If you go legit, the county has to come out and approve. Probably looking at 2-3 G's min. A 55 gallon barrel will do the same thing if you install correctly, assuming the setup you described is correct. The key is inlet and outlet elevations on the barrel, and enough fill lines to drain properly. Good luck.
