I came up with a chart I thought might help with some of the snake ID threads we have here.

A friend posted a snake pic her mom sent her yesterday on facebook asking what kind it was.

There were tons of chicken snake and king snake guesses. Even copperhead...

It was a buttermilk racer (I learned that id here from Alx). So I posted "buttermilk racer" and no one even acknowledged the guess.

She updated the post today that she shared it with an actual snake id group and the correct answer was buttermilk racer.

That's what spurred me to make the chart and troll them.

OB strikes again...

So my son just went downstairs to let the dogs out for the night. The door he opened is 7' off the ground with a porch and when he opened the door he started screaming. He ran upstairs and said a "moderately large" snake came in the door. I went downstairs and found a 3.5' rat snake in the corner with a dog messing with it. I got the snake outside and gave a teaching leason to my son and my dog. The dog has been snake trained, 2 years ago, and he knew he should not have messed with it. My son was explained that 1) don't act like a pussy, 2) the dog could have died if it had been poisonous 3) the snake could have disappeared in the house, we got lucky we found it.
