Tired of the old Ford-Chevy argument. Let's see the opinions on tractors. Alternative options of course are New Holland, Kubota, Mahindra, Massey Ferguson

I'm gonna have to go with John Deere. It aint mean if it aint green

My mom used to work at a Case IH dealer and told my dad he couldn't get a tractor.

He went to the John Deere place and bought one while she was at work........literally drove right by her store.

So im going with John Deere.

Anything under 100 hp- green

You're nuts if you buy a new real tractor or combine and it's not red.

The fuel consumption is the issue- it's solid 5-7% less operating cost to run a new red vs. new green.....that's considering the urea consumption.

The real crux of the matter is dealer support- in LA, it's a non-issue because Progressive and Scott are so strong.

According which piece of equipment you are talking about.

Lexion combine > Case combine > John Deere

John Deere cotton picker > Case cotton picker

Case tractor = John Deere tractor

I will agree with you here, even though those older front wheel assist cases were a rough mother fricker

Do tell- I'm in an 8230 tomorrow with a 35' Mac Don and Quadtracs on the front. Show me a green one that can hang.

This ain't the mid 2000's anymore with the 8010 abomination.

I've never been on a Lexion or Case combine, but you're spot on with the other stuff. We'd try out some Case equipment. They try to cut us some kind of deal every couple years it seems, but their dealer support in my area blows.

I have some serious complaints with the new S series John Deere combines, though.

1. New design on the steering wheel stand. You can't cross your feet as easily anymore

2. Seat's too far away from the windshield, so when I want to kick my boots off and prop my sock feet up, it's uncomfortable.

*****With 1&2, it's obvious they weren't thinking of folks of a normal stature. You either gotta be a midget to cross your feet and not kick the shite out of the stand, or be a damn ogre to reach the windshield with your sock feet.

3. The ladder on the front is a piece of crap. The steps aren't deep enough so slipping is a concern if you're in a hurry

4. The door doesn't shut all that great

5. The ladder on the back sucks too

6. The fuel cap sucks

Other than that, it's a fine piece of machinery. I love where the cab a/c filter is now. Screw that shite where you gotta open the door by the cab and unscrew that wing nut.

Runs like a dream.

Have always had JD.

Two years ago, leased a Case combine. SO many problems
Leased a JD last year. ZERO problems. Literally. Zip.

JD no doubt. The cases ive driven feel underpowered

8330 JD

Case is the Cadillac of heavy equipment.

Under 150 or so HP I'd go John Deere green.

With rice, the case does a terrible job of cleaning. Very dirty sample. The JD comes out straight rice, no stalk or anything
