Squirrels In The Attic

Starting to sound like quite a family get together up there the last few weeks. I've looked and I'm not finding the exact point of entry yet so work in progress there.
But as far as removal, what's the OB consensus on Fox/Coyote urine? Honestly, trapping just isn't going to be all that easy to deal with given the attic layout and tossing some green cubes at them would probably just end stinking the damn place up with a carcass or 4. If urine works I'll go get some. Any other ideas more than welcome.
Thanks, gentleman.

Seal entrance with wire mesh cone so they can exit but not re-enter.
Do it now before they have babies

1) buy plenty of big rat traps
2) place around attic in areas of squirrels activity
3) secure traps to framing with wire
4) use peanut butter as bait
5) check each day to avoid foul smell
6) rinse & repeat until all squirrels are gone
7) repair & cover entrance hole(s) with small gauge wire mesh

How do you know it isnt rats in the attic?

You really don't want any rodents roaming in your attic. They will eat through most anything and that includes whatever you may have stored up there in storage. They also love to eat the insulation off wiring and really like eating into that flex pipe duct work if that is what you have in your house. They will chew holes in that stuff and you'll be heating and air conditioning your attic more than the house area.
Many years ago I use to do duct work in houses and when that flex stuff came out, that was one of the biggest downfalls to it. At least with solid galvanized duct work they can only chew the insulation off the outside.

Try the ultrasonic pest devices sold on Amazon.

Find out what critter is up there. I heard faint scratching every night that I thought couldn't couldn't be bigger than a rat or squirrel but it turned out to be a full grown raccoon after trapping and disposing.

I had some squirrels getting in the attic through the gable vent. I watched where they were coming and going up/down the carport post. Set out a couple of Tomcat rat traps with peanut butter as bait. The Tomcat traps wouldn't kill them but held them captive until I could do the deed. One Wren was collateral damage.

Sure do appreciate the replies. Putting everything here together there is my answer already I guarantee.
But. So far no fox or coyote pee reply. Is that a bum steer?

No idea on the pee sorry.
I know how to catch them, if you don't mind killing them yourself.
Go to your local ace or other hardware store and buy 1 or 2 of the live traps. They are basically like a raccoon trap but smaller. I'd buy 2. Put one inside your attack with a whatever food you want and one outside close to where you think they enter. Even on the ground or on your roof is fine. Put them places that are easy to check. Guarantee you'll catch one in 12 hours just about.
Also, you may have rats as said. Those will catch the rats also.
You need to get serious pretty quick, rodents will make a mess in short order.

Sounds like a new Aerosmith song.

I had one a while back. I called animal control and they lent me a live trap. It doesn’t require strategerie. Just put peanut butter or cat food in it and they will find it. Check where vents or anything else is going through the roof and cover open space with chicken wire. She was building a nest for the babies when I caught her. No problems since. Over 10yrs ago and still have squirrels all over the yard and roof, but none in the attic.

scatter a box of moth balls in attic and they will be gone within a day or two. When you're sure they are gone patch up holes.
I had a family of squirrels move into my attic after I cut down a big oak... made house smell like an old closet for a bit but got rid of them

I've used fox urine before. Got the squirrels out of the attic. I took an old film canister and put cotton balls in the can. Squirted fox urine on it and I actually got in the attic and saw a squirrel. Tossed the contraption at the squirrel and the squirrel hauled @ss out of the attic.
Went outside and the thing was clung to the side of the house like it was stunned or something and I was able to pop it with a bb gun from like 4' away.
