Stupid question probably, but can you use gift cards to buy firearm at Bass Pro?

I've been accumulating gift cards for the last few months to help buy my next rifle. Someone told me that some stores may not accept giftcards as payment for a firearm. Could someone please verify whether this is true or not. I have $1100 in cards and I'd be pissed if I can't use it for my rifle

ETA: I've probably saved $300 by buying giftcards off Craigslist, Ebay and a few giftcard resale sites.

Some guy in Dallas sold me $75 for $30 b/c "he's not into outdoors and doesn't know what else to do with the giftcard."
