I hardly use mine now since getting property and my old man cant duck hunt out of it anymore.

Catching reds in it when they are in ponds is good fun.

I'd like either a LT25 or a Classic, raised front deck, poling platform on the rear, and do away with the center box and replace it with a permanently mounted ice chest, tiller steer. Seems like the center console would take up room on a boat where room is limited.

If/when I do ever pull the trigger I'd probably just order the bare hull from Gheenoe and build the rest out myself.

That's what I'm doing. Getting poling platform/jackplate/grab bar in May.

I wish I would have done away with the center box but it is very nice for storing stuff. I'll let you drive mine some so you can get a good feel for the classic. I know a lot of people say the classic is better for the interior marsh because it carves turns better and the LT25 slides on turns a little

This is one someone was rebuilding on Custom Gheenoe that gave me the idea to do away with the center box, he also added a false floor. Add a 65 quart ice chest, maybe a grab bar, and deck all the way forward(he left room to put his legs/feet when paddling it) and it's exactly what I have in mind. I check around occasionally looking for a project like this to just build out how I like. There was a Super 16 on craiglist for $500 that apparently sold in about an hour but I question how legit it was.

Before/After.

I saw that one on the forum. Awesome looking rebuild.
They definitely pop up here and there. If I see one pop up I'll post it here and let you know.

I've gotten "stuck" once and it's because the wind pushed me onto a flat that was basically out of the water. I've realistically floated and moved through sub-5" water.

Layout after rebuild is nice.

Towee also makes some pretty slick little boats like this.

I'll trade straight up for one, Academy cleared them out for $99 each. I bought 7 of them, kept 3, hooked a buddy up with one and have been flipping the others on eBay.

I used mine for duck season this past yea. A few times I stuck it in the marsh, dropped some mums and a piece of burlap over the boat and did well. I have a low sider and it has 8" sides so it hides well.
I did a complete rebuild last summer, which includes decks fore and aft, false floor, and flotation under all of it.
I had the boat pushing through 2" of water in a flat during duck season. It paddles like a canoe with the motor up in 4" and top speed with the right weight distribution is 23 with the 9.8 tohatsu.

Not sure of size. Saw it in a barn asked if it was for sale and told it was for $500. Has a 9.9 but he wants to keep that.

I stopped reading here, but buy it. Just be aware that it's a very limited boat. Gheenoes are sick though.

Guess it poles better than a flats skiff. What do they draft ?

Not necessarily true. While they are lighter and much easier to push around, that means they're much easier to blow around too. They don't track well on the pole in the wind at all, and poling them in bad conditions is more of a pain in the arse than poling a poling skiff in the same conditions (even though neither is really that pleasant).

Not a knock on Gheenoe. Like I said, they're sick. If I was on a strict budget and needed a boat to fish the interior marsh specifically, a super light Gheenoe with a poling platform and a full deck with storage would be at the top of my list.

Everything he said ^^ is true. They're very light and pole easy without wind but get blown around. There's a reason they're cheap and the more expensive skiffs are the price that they are.

I use mine to hunt ducks on the river. Great boat to hunt out of when the river is down. It's easy to maneuver around in shallow water esp on creeks.

What model is that ryzzle?
I want to do a false floor in mine. How did you make it?

1979 Low sider. The floors and decks are all foam core with 2 part flotation under floor and 1/2 the decks.

I had one for about 5 years. Bought the hull at factory in Titusville, and put a 25hp Yamaha 4 stroke tiller steer elect start, even a foot control 36 lb Minn Kota. Later added an electric jack plate. had the live well in center console. I used to work a lot in florida so I would bring in down with me easy to trailer. But the boat was a blast it was truly like a go cart as I would run mid 30 with two people and gear it felt like 50.

I fished a lot of areas around fort myers, and dulac. Made some trips and got soaked as its not a dre ride> But fun. I spent about 4400 all in used it for 5 years and sold it for 4200 in Naples area had two guys ready to fight for it. will look for photos noting cosmic looking just brown came.
