Budget-20k
Skinny draft isn't super important.
Something I can go out on good days and catch snapper.

You want a bay boat or a CC?

Id take a cc, if it was the right boat.

Seems like most of the bay boats I see are CCs? Curious to see the recs, myself, though.

Yes most bay boats have the console in the center.
The term Center console is typically used to describe boats with deeper V’s, higher sides, designed to handle largerwaves more better than shallower v’s of bay boats.
Thats why he asked when you mentioned snapper and no real need for shallow water access.

I didn't ask the question and figured that was why he got the response he did. Not sure of the OPs experience with these types of boats so I wanted to point out that he needs to be specific (which I didn't do well, looking back at it), not everyone will understand center console to mean what you said and most around our area do.

He's looking for a center console boat that with a hull design that gives him enough stability to occasionally go out far enough to snapper fish (in good conditions) but still be useful for nearshore and some inshore fishing applications at a reasonable price.
Aren't we all

Depending on your price limit and speed needs I’d be getting a frontier or a blackjack 224

Well no shite Sherlock. I guess you don’t know the difference. A bay boat has a center console but is a very different boat than a CC which is not a bay boat.
The op asks about bay boat suggestions then mentions that he doesn’t need shallow water capability and wants to be able to target snapper. So it sounds like he is asking for a CC not a bay boat.

Where are you fishing out of some places snapper are 5 miles out some places 50 miles out maybe check out a used 22 twin vee iif you will be using it more in open water

Kenner 23v is the ultimate IMO. Runs shallow enough to chase reds (but you will drag keel earlier than lightweight boats) and big/heavy enough to run out for snapper and has a 96 gallon fuel tank. Tons of range and incredible seakeeping for a bay boat. To me it's the best south Louisiana bay boat ever built. The blazer 2400 is a copy of it, but lighter because no wood. I've never seen a used one for sale but the 23v's show up occasionally.
20k should get you a used frontier 22 which is also a great seaworthy hull.

Thanks, Actually I do know that, I just wasn't sure if the OP did. In my typical sarcastic fashion I answered without actually explaining my point. As evidenced by the fact that you're the second person to respond as such. I really need to come to the OB BEFORE I hit the OT or tRant.

You're talking about a "Deep V" moron. CC stands for center console which most Bay boats are.

How about you do a little reading on what the common terminology is regarding boats and boating. Keep the insult. It shows more about yourself than me.

There’s a Rinalli in Houma forsale that’s begging for a new owner. It’s in the OP’s price range and a top tier 22’ boat.

All bay boats are center console but not all center consoles are bay boats. That's on me, I should have specified deep V hull. A bay boat with high gunnels is perfect. I liked the frontier but they are few and far between in the used market.

no, bay boats are by their very name designed as inshore fishing boats
if you want something for offshore fishing, a bay boat is not made for handling that type of water, but then any boat can go any where.
you need a boat with high sides made to handle larger waves for off shore fishing

I posted that boat here before, guy wants payoff of $43,000. New is $45,000 so he’ll be sitting on it for a while.
