One of my buddies recently got engaged and he is wanting to go offshore for the bachelor party, specifically targeting tuna at least one day. Now, the wedding probably isn't until next year, but what would be the best time to try and line it up assuming we go this fall or early spring 2019?

Also, any recommendations on lodging and/or reliable guides would be very helpful. Thanks and

first of all, you can only put 6 dudes per boat so keep that in mind

fall- less fish but bigger in size
summer- more fish, not as big as fall

MGFC, Peace Marvel, Paradise, Voodoo, GeauxFish are all reputable charters that will put you on the fish

I have been with Paradise and Voodoo and enjoyed both trips. We went around June/July so we could also catch some snapper as well.

Unless your buddy is dead set on Venice, you may also want to look at going to Grand Isle. There is more to do on the island than Venice (unless you head back to New Orleans) so you could fill a non-fishing night with something. If you go the Grand Isle route, I have heard good things about Reel Addiction charters.

Could always fill a night with a bowfishing trip and day with an inshore trip if you want to make it all about fishing.

If you go to Venice, you have to make an inshore trip with Boola with reel-tite fishing

Dude’s a trip - always on them redfish too, go check out his Facebook page

this is so strange, me and my buddies are doing the exact same thing. Except we're going to Grand Isle and are going this August

Cory & Ryan frick the tuna up but I think they mostly focus on overnighters (which are a blast)

I am trying to plan one for the end of June/Early July. Any idea how much fuel usually runs for those over-night trips? I have been budgeting about $1,000.

I've never been on their boat so I have no idea how much fuel they burn but I would think $1,000 would be a safe number on the high end.

Good luck getting in for the summer. Me and a buddy know Cory personally and he’s booked through September.

I think for an over nite trip 600-700/person with 6 people should cover it.

Thanks fellas. I don't think he's dead set on Venice so I'll check into Grand Isle.

Don't look past Forchon either. Also, try to make sure no one get too drunk the night before, it will make for a miserable trip. If you decide on a bowfishing trip look up Midnight Blue Bowfishing out of Leeville, dude hammers the fish and has a really nice lodge as well.

Just drink more once you get on the boat. Easiest way to cure a hangover my friend
