Over the weekend I killed a beautiful late season mallard and I’m wanting to do a hanging dead mount with him. I’ve never had a duck mounted before and want the OB’s advice on who to take him to in the Baton Rouge area. thanks in advance

I know you’re wanting Baton Rouge area but if you want to make the trip to carencro, bring it to Matthew Courville. I live in the BR area too but I make the drive when I get them mounted. The guy does some really impressive work and he’s pretty cheap too. Definitely worth the drive imo.

Sonny Amato in central does good work. He did a full plumage monster grey for me and has done a few other birds for a buddy of mine.

I’m assuming he is still working...

Second Dave Luke

Go before all of his mounts are in the museum, he’s thinning out his showroom quickly, and soon, all will be in a museum.

Sonny Amato does a great job, but I don't think he's taking on new clients.

Shouldn't take long for any taxidermist in this state to finish your bird in record time. With the pitiful numbers across the state, I can't imagine their business is booming.

I use Matthew Courville in Carencro. I have some birds that david luke has done and the are well done. I started using Matthew because he was the same price and quality of luke but a faster turnaround. He also does some fantastic fish work.
